Taipa Houses closes temporarily to the public

In conjunction with the activities of 64th Macau Grand Prix, the Taipa Houses of the Cultural Affairs Bureau will be temporarily closed to the public from 12pm on Saturday, 18 November, until the end of the same day. The entire area of the Taipa Houses (including Avenida da Praia) will be closed to the public on the designated day and access is restricted to authorities and authorized vehicles. The Creative Casa will be closed to the public during the whole day.




Compilation and Annotations of Ming and Qing Chinese Documents on Matteo Ricci launched in Shanghai

The book Compilation and Annotations of Ming and Qing Chinese Documents on Matteo Ricci, jointly published by the Cultural Affairs Bureau and the Shanghai Chinese Classics Publishing House, was launched at a ceremony held on 7 November together with a scholar exchange session at the Shanghai Library Bibliotheca Zi-Ka-Wei. The launch ceremony was officiated by the Vice President of the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao S.A.R. Government, Chan Peng Fai; the Director of the Shanghai Chinese Classics Publishing House, Gao Keqin; the Deputy Director of Shanghai Library, Zhou Deming; and the book’s author, Tang Kaijian.

Government pledges to safeguard local workers’ rights and promote upward mobility

The Government would adhere to the principle of protecting the rights of the local workforce by controlling the size of the non-resident workforce, the Chief Executive, Mr Chui Sai On, told the Legislative Assembly this afternoon.
