Creations by Students of Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Center Fashion Incubator Program to be showcased in Hong Kong Fashion Week

To promote the development of Macao fashion industry, Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Center (CPTTM) leads the students of “Fashion Incubator Program” to participate in the “Hong Kong Fashion Week for Spring/Summer” this week. Students will be showcasing their latest created-in-Macao collections in fashion show on 12 July as well as exhibiting in their stands.


Government cautiously analysing possible refreshment of current gaming concessions

The Government would analyse various options – including the possibility of amendment to terms and conditions – regarding any refreshment of gaming rights for Macao’s current gaming concessions and sub-concessions.


The 5th Macao International Travel (Industry) Expo adjourns with success Worldwide tourism businesses gather in Macao for cooperation and partnership opportunities

Supported by China National Tourism Administration (CNTA), organized by Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) and coordinated by Macau Travel Agency Association, the 5th Macao International Travel (Industry) Expo (“the Expo” or “MITE”) adjourned with success on 9th July. The Expo leveraged Macao’s role as a Sino-Portuguese platform and highlighted the city’s unique advantages, in line with the Macao Special Administrative Region Government’s participation in the Country’s Belt and Road development and the development planning of a city cluster in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The Expo was greater in scale compared with last year, with a wider exhibition floor, more booths and exhibitors coming from a greater number of countries and regions. The Expo admitted around 36,000 visitors this year and 31 cooperative agreements were signed during the event. The Expo has achieved expected results.


Exhibition “Ballade – Animamix Contemporary Art” opens this week at the Macao Art Museum

Organized by the Macao Museum of Art (MAM), under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, the exhibition “Ballade – Animamix Contemporary Art” features a total of 46 pieces (sets), including anime, videos, installations, sculptures, oil paintings and large-scale live paintings created by 17 artists and art groups from Mainland China, Korea, Japan and Macao, presenting animamix as an emerging field of contemporary art which develops towards cultural diversity, text visualisation, surreal virtualisation and cross-national regionalisation. The opening ceremony of the exhibition will be held on Thursday, 13 July, at 6:30pm, on the 1st floor of the MAM.


Specific price survey results on 3 kinds of products

Consumer Council conducted its specific price survey on diapers, over-the-counter drugs, and milk powder on 10 July for the implementation of Section 2b), Article 10, Law 4/95/M of 12 June. Result of the mentioned survey has been uploaded to the Council’s website (www.consumer.gov.mo) and is available in the Council’s ‘Supermarket Price Information Platform’ iPhone and Android apps, and on the Council’s WeChat account page.


Macao Orchestra presents concerts in cooperation with the Macao Science Centre once again

Cooperating once again with the Macao Science Centre, the Macao Orchestra, under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, presents the concerts “Science and Music Festival” on 15 July (Saturday), to be held at 3pm and 4:30pm. The concerts will be visually and acoustically appealing by combining interesting scientific knowledge and classical music elements, offering the children a sensational show. All interested parties are welcome to attend the concerts for free by presenting the Macao Science Centre Exhibition Centre ticket issued in the same day.


MPI students win silver award at the Pan-Pearl River Delta Region Universities IT Project Competition

Students and teachers from the Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI) participated in the grand finals of the ‘2017 Pan-Pearl River Delta Region Universities IT Project Competition’ held in Hong Kong from 3-5 July. Tens of thousands of university students took part in this annual event which aims to promote innovative thinking. A project team comprising four MPI students: Lam Choi Ut, Song In Man, Ngai Chong Cheong and Lai Chi Meng won the silver award at the competition, bringing great honour to Macao. The student team worked on a project entitled ‘Big-data based smart parking management solution’ under the supervision of Dr. Jacky Tang, Associate Professor of MPI’s Computing programme.


UM launches various popular summer programmes

The University of Macau’s (UM) summer programmes and summer camps have been quite popular among international students and secondary school students in Macao. This year, the university continues to organise summer programmes and camps of different themes, including science popularisation, biomedical sciences, English, and Portuguese, to help students discover their talents and interests.


5th MITE features China – Portugal Tourism Seminar & Networking for enhanced exchange and cooperation

The 5th Macao International Travel (Industry) Expo (“the Expo” or “MITE”) was inaugurated this morning (7th July). As one of the featured highlights, the China – Portugal Tourism Seminar & Networking was held in the afternoon with around 120 tourism industry participants from the Mainland, Hong Kong, Portugal and other countries and regions. The event enhanced exchange and cooperation and radiated Macao’s advantages as a Sino-Portuguese platform.


Macao Museum offers free admission on Tuesdays from July

The Macao Museum (MM), under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, is devoted to promoting the history of Macao. Starting from July, the Macao Museum will improve the quality of its services by offering free admission to the public on Tuesdays.
