The ITTF Men's and Women's World Cup Macao 2025 presented by Galaxy Entertainment Group, sanctioned by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), organized by the Sports Bureau, Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) and World Table Tennis Management Group Limited (WTMG), and co-organized by the Macau Table Tennis General Association, concluded the group stage today (16 April) at the Galaxy Arena, determining 16 qualifiers each for the knockout stages.

To leverage Macao’s pivotal role as the “Precise Connector” between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, Macao Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) organised a 16-member delegation of entrepreneurs from mainland China and Macao to conduct business exchanges in three cities in Brazil from 14 to 18 April. The delegation also aimed at advancing the realisation of the “China-PSC Business Compass” service.

Macao Museum of Art holds the exhibition of Shiwan ceramics from the MAM Collection to present the beauty of Lingnan art traditions and innovations
Organised by the Macao Museum of Art (MAM), under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, the exhibition “Gems from Kilns: Shiwan Ceramics from the Macao Museum of Art Collection” will be inaugurated on 16 April. Divided into four major themes including “Shiwan Ceramic Roof Ridge” “Shiwan Pottery,” “Floral And Faunal Imagery” and “Shiwan Figurines”, the exhibition features 123 pieces/sets of Shiwan ceramic treasures, tracing the journey of Shiwan ceramics from a regional craft to one engaging in international dialogues, and allowing viewers to experience the Lingnan legend forged by earth and fire. Since the mid-Ming dynasty, Shiwan ceramics are characterized by vibrant glazes and unique techniques that blend pottery craftsmanship introduced by immigrants from the Central Plains with local Lingnan culture. Residents and tourists are welcome to visit.

Tap Siac Craft Market in Spring to be inaugurated next Thursday
Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from its Portuguese acronym), the Tap Siac Craft Market in Spring will be held from 24 to 27 April and from 1 to 4 May at Tap Siac Square. The opening ceremony will be held at 6pm on 24 April (Thursday), featuring singer Lily Chan as the guest performer. All are welcome to participate in this cultural and creative feast of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Foreign exchange reserves and nominal effective exchange rate index for the pataca – March 2025
The Monetary Authority of Macao announced today (16 April) that the preliminary estimate of Macao SAR’s foreign exchange reserves amounted to MOP235.8 billion (USD29.44 billion) at the end of March 2025. The reserves decreased by 2.3% from the revised value of MOP241.5 billion (USD30.15 billion) for the previous month. Macao SAR’s foreign exchange reserves at end-March 2025 represented 11 times the currency in circulation or 90.6% of pataca M2 at end-February 2025.
