Macao Museum of Art holds the exhibition of century-old Shiwan ceramic figurines by renowned masters from Saturday (19 March)

The Macao Museum of Art (MAM), under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, will hold the “Exhibition of Shiwan Ceramics from the MAM Collection” on the 4th floor of the MAM from 19 March (Saturday), featuring 33 pieces/sets of ceramic figurines from the MAM collection that were created by renowned masters from the Qing Dynasty until modern times. The exhibition runs until 13 November. All are welcome to visit.


Survey on information technology usage in the household sector for 2021

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that number of households using the Internet totalled 191,800 in 2021, accounting for 94.6% of the total households, up by 2.7 percentage points year-on-year; this implied a further increase in the prevalence of Internet use. Number of households using mobile network to access the Internet grew by 4.6% year-on-year to 188,000, taking up 98.0% of the households who used the Internet, the same proportion as in 2020. Meanwhile, 90.1% (172,900) of the households used home broadband to access the Internet, an increase of 1.0 percentage point.


Commemorative postmark cancellation service of “World Forest Day”

To celebrate the World Forest Day, Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau announces that a Temporary Post Counter will be set up at Senado Square, at 10:00 to 17:00 on 21st March 2022 providing the commemorative postmark cancellation service for the “World Forest Day”.


2022 Sands China Macao International 10K kicks off this Sunday

Organized by the Sports Bureau of Macao SAR Government and the General Association of Athletics of Macau, and title-sponsored by Sands China Ltd., the 2022 Sands China Macao International 10K kicks off on 20 March (Sunday). The Organizing Committee held a pre-event press conference today (17 March) to introduce the competition details and relevant information. The press conference was attended by: Mr. Pun Weng Kun, President of the Sports Bureau; Dr. Wilfred Wong, President of Sands China Ltd.; Mr. Lam Hin Fu, President of the General Association of Athletics of Macau; Mr. Allen Lau and Ms. Christine Lam, Vice Presidents of the Sports Bureau.

Updated nucleic acid test requirement for arrivals from Zhuhai

Starting from after the stroke of midnight on Friday, (18 March 2022), people arriving in Macao via boundary checkpoints between Zhuhai and Macao will be required to present a nucleic acid test certificate issued within the previous 24 hours, proving the person is ‘negative’ for COVID-19 infection.


Cartography and Cadastre Bureau launched the updated version of “Walking Routes Map” and the thematic website

In response to the continuous improvement of various walking systems and facilities in Macao, as well as the opening of the pedestrian walkway along the Avenida de Guimarães of Taipa, the Cartography and Cadastre Bureau (DSCC) has cooperated with the Transport Bureau, the Land, Public Works and Transport Bureau, the Municipal Affairs Bureau and the Cultural Affairs Bureau to launch the updated version of “Walking Routes Map” and the thematic website. It is convenient for the citizens to learn about the latest walking systems and facilities in Macao and to meet the needs of the citizens.


Macao's Base Rate of the Discount Window Raised to 0.75%

The Monetary Authority of Macao (AMCM) raised the Base Rate of the Discount Window today (17 March 2022) by 25 basis points to 0.75%.
