How to Apply

Time of application:N/A

Application procedures and documents required

  1. For appointment-making, please present:
    1. Patient Card (commonly known as ‘gold card’);
    2. Medical referral letter (required by all but a few specialties; follow-up appointment will be arranged by the attending physician during consultation).
  2. On the day of consultation, please proceed to the Registration Office and present:
    1. Identity document;
    2. Patient Card (commonly known as ‘gold card’);
    3. Outpatient appointment slip;
    4. Others:
      1. Healthcare Access Card (applicable to civil servants and/or their family beneficiaries); or
      2. Medical Card (applicable to workers of organisations with which the Health Bureau has an agreement); or
      3. Healthcare Card and relevant documentary proof (applicable to individuals entitled to ‘free healthcare’).

        Monday to Friday (except government holidays), 8:30am~1:00pm, 2:00pm~5:45pm (until 5:30pm on Fridays)
      5. 1/F of Outpatient Building, Conde de São Januário General Hospital — Registration Office

    2. Psychiatry

    3. 1/F of Outpatient Building – Registration Office

    4. Holders of Macao SAR Resident Identity Card may also check in via the self-service registration kiosks located at the Hospital Lobby or on each floor of Outpatient Building

  4. Consultation hours
    1. Monday to Friday (except government holidays), 09:00 onwards for the morning session; 14:30 onwards for the afternoon session
  5. Services during special hours
    1. extended hours for outpatient Oncology on Saturdays (09:00~14:00)
    2. During holidays, participants of healthcare seminars may check in with the self-service registration kiosk at the Hospital Lobby at the specified time; in case it is out of order, please proceed to the registration office of General Emergency.

Application Processing Time

Scheduled outpatients can be checked in within 10 minutes upon arrival at the registration office. (Performance Pledge)

-During rush hours (10:00~12:00, 15:00~17:00), within 25 minutes. (Performance Pledge)

-During non-rush hours (08:30~10:00, 12:00~15:00, 17:00~20:00), within 20 minutes . (Performance Pledge)


Remarks/Notes for Application

  1. Under general situations, referral letters are valid for 180 days (60 days for referrals of incumbent civil servants to specific specialist outpatient in Kiang Wu Hospital);
  2. Defaulted appointments can be re-arranged within 180 days, starting from the issuing date of the referral letter as in first consultation cases, or from the day of the defaulted appointment as in follow-up cases; for old cases of Dermatology, follow-up can be re-arranged within one year;
  3. In case the referral or rebooking application is made beyond the above time limit, service users shall return to the referring entity for re-assessment.
  4. Apart from the above, service users referred by private medical institutions or clinics should submit their referral letters to the registration office located in the lobby of Conde de São Januário General Hospital; after evaluation of the referral by the head of department concerned, service users will be informed of the consultation arrangement by telephone.
