Medicine Store Licence

Service Introduction

Procedures for the issuance of Medicine Store Licence to individuals or legal persons (corporations) who intend to run a medicine store. According to Article 18 of Decree-Law no. 58/90/M dated 19th September, anyone who intends to open a medicine store must file an application to and obtain prior authorisation from the Health Bureau.

Service targets: Individuals or legal persons (corporations) who intend to run a medicine store.

Eligibility:
According to Article 67 of Decree-Law no. 58/90/M dated 19th September, the granting of a medicine store licence depends on the fulfillment of the following general requirements:

  1. The applicant shall reside or be based in Macao, and be constituted in accordance with law if the applicant is a legal person;
  2. The applicant, or its managers and administrators or directors, shall not engage in any activity that involves provision of medical services, particularly doctors or related professions;
  3. The medicine store shall have professionally trained staff to provide medicines to the public;
  4. The facilities and equipment shall be adequate for the operation of the medicine store.

Result of application: The Health Bureau will issue a medicine store licence to the individuals or legal persons (corporations) that meet the statutory requirements.
