Target Participants: aged 13 or above

In this session, director and adaptor Bee Wan will share his creative journey behind The Starry Night – The Musical. He will speak about the integration of Lingnan cultural elements into the work, and how traditional forms such as Shiwan pottery and Cantonese opera are brought into a contemporary musical theatre setting. The audience will gain a closer understanding of the ideas and creative processes that shape the production.

Speaker: Bee Wan
Resident director of the Actors’ Family. A graduate of The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, where he specialised in stage lighting, he later pursued further studies in Europe, having obtained a Master’s degree in scenography with distinction. In 2015 he co-founded the Alliance of Theatre Professionals of Hong Kong with fellow theatre practitioners.
