Tour Macao FUN Fair series ensues at seaside of Macao Science Center “Light Carnival” Themed Market enriches travel experience
Jointly organized by Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) and local community organizations, the series of activities entitled “Tour Macao FUN Fair” officially commenced last month and gained much popularity among residents and visitors. To steer community tourism and economy forward, the Tour Macao FUN Fair roll outs another fun-filled activity of the series – the “Light Carnival” Themed Market at the seaside next to Macao Science Center from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays between 4 December 2021 and 2 January 2022.

UM to confer honorary doctorates on seven distinguished individuals
The University of Macau (UM) will confer honorary doctorates on Lawrence Juen-yee Lau, Kaixian Chen, Shuji Nakamura, Li Lanjuan, Lee Hau Leung, Zhu Lilan and Chio Fai Aglaia Kong in recognition of their outstanding achievements and significant contributions to social development and education. Some of the recipients will receive their doctorates at the Ceremony for the Conferment of Honorary and Higher Degrees 2021 to be held on 11 December (Saturday) at 4:00pm in the University Hall. In addition, PhD degrees, master’s degrees, and postgraduate certificates/diplomas will be presented at the ceremony. The ceremony will be broadcast live so that graduates and their families and friends from all over the world can participate in the event.

MSAR Government strongly supports introduction in Macao of advisers to safeguard national security
On 30 November, the Central Government announced its approval of a report by Mr Ho Iat Seng, the Chief Executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR), that proposes establishing the posts of National Security Adviser and National Security Technical Adviser in the Committee for Safeguarding National Security of the Macao SAR.
