Cultural Affairs Bureau participates in the 17th International Architecture Exhibition, La Biennale di Venezia with exhibition themed “Connectivities”

Organized by the Macao Museum of Art (MAM) under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), and co-organized by the Architects Association of Macau, the “17th International Architecture Exhibition, La Biennale di Venezia – Exhibits from Macao, China” was opened to the public on 22 May in Venice, presenting the relationship between architecture, land reclamations, collective memory and urban life from multiple perspectives, offering visitors from different parts of the world a picture of the cross-border life in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and exploring the infinite possibilities of “Connectivities”.


UFI Asia Pacific Conference 2022 to be Held in Macao

The Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM), members of the Convention and Exhibition Industry Development Committee, and representatives of local MICE associations joined the UFI Asia Pacific Conference 2021 online on 20 May. The UFI Asia Pacific Conference will be held in Macao in 2022, which is expected to give new impetus to MICE and the peripheral industries of Macao.


IPIM Continues to Follow up and Optimise Works Related to Temporary Residency

The Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) attaches high importance to the sector regarding temporary residency in the Annual Report 2020 by the Commission Against Corruption (CCAC). IPIM will continue to follow up and optimise relevant works pro-actively.


Survey on manpower needs and wages for the 1st quarter of 2021 – Financial activities

The Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) released results of the Survey on Manpower Needs and Wages of Financial Activities for the first quarter of 2021. The Survey covers the Banking Sector, Other Financial Intermediation, Insurance and Activities Auxiliary to Financial Intermediation, including financial institutions supervised by the Monetary Authority of Macao, but excluding insurance agents and brokers not directly employed by insurance companies.


Visitor arrivals for April 2021

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that visitor arrivals to Macao totalled 794,819 in April 2021, an increase of 5.3% month-to-month and an upsurge of 7,098.8% year-on-year. Overnight visitors and same-day visitors added up to 450,579 and 344,240 respectively. The average length of stay of visitors shortened by 5.7 days year-on-year to 1.6 days, with that of overnight visitors (2.9 days) reducing notably by 18.2 days on account of the adjustments in pandemic prevention measures; meanwhile, the duration for same-day visitors (0.1 day) remained unchanged.


Macao's composite interest rates – 1st Quarter 2021

According to statistics released today by the Monetary Authority of Macao, the composite interest rates of Macao’s banking sector for the pataca (MOP) and the Hong Kong dollar (HKD) registered decreases in the first quarter of 2021.

MPI participates in Online Forum on Models and Experiences of Institutional Quality Assurance in Higher Education

In order to contribute to the reinforcement of the role of Macao as a basis for intercultural sharing and a platform for Sino-Lusophone cooperation, and with the aim of sharing with the Higher Education Institutions of Portuguese Speaking Countries and Regions the experiences of the Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI) in institutional quality improvement processes, the President of MPI, Professor IM Sio Kei, Marcus, participated in an International Online Forum on “Models and Experiences of Institutional Quality Assurance in Higher Education”.


Consumer price index (CPI) for April 2021

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the Composite CPI for April 2021 (102.47) went down by 0.64% year-on-year, which was 0.33 percentage points lower than the decrease in March (-0.97%).


Four main functions demonstrated on “Consumer Online” tutorial talks

In order to encourage increased usage of the “Consumer Online” e-services platform by consumers, the Consumer Council continues to conduct relevant talks to different communities.
