IAM speeds up garbage clearing work in the streets
As the typhoon is approaching, IAM has coordinated with the Macau Residue System Company, Ltd. to speed up the garbage clearing work in the streets. IAM calls for public cooperation to store garbage at home temporarily. Building management entities should keep the garbage bins in the buildings so as to avoid the garbage from being blown to block the drains during the typhoon period and aggravating the accumulation of garbage in public streets after the typhoon.

Guangdong Province issues RMB2.2 billion offshore municipal government bond in Macao today
The Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) Government congratulated the People’s Government of Guangdong Province on the successful issuance of its inaugural offshore Renminbi (RMB) municipal government bond in Macao today (12 October). It also marked the first Mainland municipal government bond issued in Macao. The MSAR Government expressed its gratitude to the Ministry of Finance and the People’s Government of Guangdong Province for their support to Macao’s bond market development.

Meals provided in enclosed zones temporarily replaced with food packs during typhoon period
The Macao SAR Government continues to meet the daily needs of the residents in enclosed zones based on its public health and epidemic prevention measures, with the Subsistence Team maintaining the services of meal provision, daily necessities delivery and domestic waste collection in the enclosed Red and Yellow Code Zones. To conduct civil protection against typhoon as Tropical Cyclone “Kompasu” is approaching Macao, each of the residents in the Red and Yellow Code Zones will be provided with a two-day portion emergency food pack today (October 12), as a replacement for the hot boxed meals for the dinner today and the all-day meals tomorrow.

To catalyse wider technology adoption in the digital economy era, the Idea-cation @ IFTM 2021 is launched on November 5-7 to elicit novel technological solutions to address business challenges and opportunities arisen from the “Tourism+” initiative.
Idea-cation @ IFTM aims to seek innovative and viable solutions tailored for our industries (e.g. tourism, hospitality, F&B, MICE, retail). Through this three-day-two-night (3D2N) on-campus event, participants will be meeting new friends, pitching their innovative ideas, and having great fun while gaining new insights from industry/academic experts. Mentors will be assigned to individual teams for furnishing ideas and boosting teams’ competence level. Guest speakers will also be invited to share their insights on business innovation.

Contingency arrangements made by IAM to manage its green facilities during tropical cyclones
If “Tropical Cyclone Signal no. 8 or above” is changed to “Tropical Cyclone Signal no. 3”, the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) will conduct inspection and assessment of all the green and leisure facilities under its management to safeguard public safety. To avoid affecting its front line staff when they carry out inspection of the places and emergency actions, the facilities will be closed to the public during the period. For those places that are equipped with doors, gates or main entrances and exits, notice signs will be put there to inform the public that the facilities are closed temporarily. The public should take note of these arrangements and consider using the facilities after the “list of reopened facilities” is announced.

As the Tropical Cyclone “Kompasu” is gradually approaching Macao, it is expected to bring unstable weather to the city. The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) appeals to persons in charge of food production and operation establishments in low-lying areas to take preventive measures against floods and power outages, and protect food and goods properly to avoid contamination.
