Announcement:“Oversea Mama PH” not an authorised financial institution

The Monetary Authority of Macao (AMCM) alerts the public to the money transfer service from Macao to the Philippines being offered through a social media account “Oversea Mama PH”. Such account is not an authorised entity to carry out regulated financial activities in the Macao Special Administrative Region.


Small and medium-sized enterprise credit statistics – Second half of 2019

According to statistics released today by the Monetary Authority of Macao, newly approved small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) credit retreated in the second half of 2019. On the other hand, the outstanding balance of SME loans rose year-on-year while the share of SME loans to major industries remained stable.


Special arrangement for services of the Shop of Communications Museum of CTT Macao starting from 2nd March 2020

Starting from 2nd of March, the Shop of Communications Museum of CTT will reopen to the public, from Monday to Friday: 9:00~13:00, 14:30~17:45 (Friday 17:30). However, the Communications Museum’s exhibition galleries remain closed until further notice.


Visitor arrivals for January 2020

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that owing to the impact of COVID-19 epidemic, visitor arrivals in January 2020 dropped by 16.8% year-on-year to 2,850,465. Same-day visitors (1,530,832) and overnight visitors (1,319,633) decreased by 14.2% and 19.6% respectively. The average length of stay of visitors held steady year-on-year at 1.2 days; overnight visitors extended their stay by 0.1 day to 2.3 days, whereas the duration for same-day visitors remained unchanged at 0.2 day.


Applications for the Cultural Affairs Bureau’s “Academic Research Grants” open in March

The applications for the “Academic Research Grants”, launched by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), will be open from 1 March to 31 May this year.

The money transfer service of Western Union in post offices continues to be suspended on this day.

The location for parcels pick up is Central Post Office with entrance in Rua da Sé. Both recipients of parcels or EMS items can use the “Track-and-Trace” service in CTT’s website to check the status of their mails http://www.ctt.gov.mo/MacauPost/Contents/MailTrack.aspx.

Please pay attention that there are delays in all services provides, in particular, the delivery of postal items and delays will not be compensated during this period until further notice.

The DSEJ Sets Out Conditions for Class Resumption of Non-Tertiary Education Schools

As the situation ofthe novel coronavirus epidemic in Macao is becoming stable, the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau (DSEJ)has set out the conditions for class resumption of non-tertiary education schools after it has communicated with relevant departments like the Health Bureau, education groups and school representatives as well as listened to their opinions on the class resumption plan. According to the opinions provided by the Health Bureau on class resumption, the DSEJhas initially planned that when there are no new confirmed cases of novel coronavirus found in Macao and Guangdong Province for 14 consecutive days, and both Zhuhai and Zhongshan City announced that they will resume classes, the DSEJ will then announce class resumption for non-tertiary education schools 14 days in advance. At present, due to the epidemic development in the neighbouring regions, there is a chanceof class resumption in late April, and if conditions permit, classes may be resumed earlier.

STAMP ISSUE “GASTRONOMY AND SWEETS III – TRADITIONAL POPULAR SNACKS”

Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau issued the stamp themes “Dim Sum” and “Hawker's Food” under the stamp series of “Gastronomy and Sweets” in 1999 and 2002. The third series with the stamp theme “Gastronomy and Sweets III – Traditional Popular Snacks” will be issued on 1st March, 2020.
