The Consumer Council conducted its specific price survey on tissue papers and milk powder on 12 June for the implementation of Section 2b), Article 10, Law 4/95/M of 12 June. The mentioned survey has been uploaded to the Council’s website ( www.consumer.gov.mo ), it is also available on the Council’s “Macao Price Information Platform” app.

Consumer price index (CPI) for May 2020
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the Composite CPI (103.03) for May 2020 increased by 1.67% year-on-year, a slowdown of 0.38 percentage points from the growth in April (+2.05%). The increment was attributable to dearer prices of fresh pork, rising charges for eating out and higher rentals for dwellings.

Cultural Affairs Bureau launches intangible cultural heritage workshops to celebrate the China Cultural and Natural Heritage Day promoting intangible cultural heritage and a healthy lifestyle online
In response to the “China Cultural and Natural Heritage Day” on 13 June 2020, the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) will hold a series of activities from 13 to 21 June, including the “Demonstration Workshop on making Cheongsam and Chinese Wedding Dress (kwan kwa)” and “Beijing Opera Mask Creative Workshop”, which introduce the unique charm of intangible cultural heritage to the public. In addition, IC will share information about intangible cultural heritage and the concept of healthy lifestyle with the public online, giving the public a deeper understanding of the relationship between intangible cultural heritage and their daily lives and raising the public’s awareness of safeguarding intangible cultural heritage. IC will deploy the appropriate measures according to the anti-epidemic guidelines of the Health Bureau.

Progress of COVID-19 Research Projects
In order to strengthen Macao Special Administrative Region's effective response to the COVID-19 outbreak, the Science and Technology Development Fund (the FDCT) has solicited related research proposals in this February from local universities and science and technology enterprises. 26 projects have been funded out of the 74 received applications, in which 22 of the funded projects are university projects and the other 4 are science enterprise projects. To enhance the application of the research outcomes, the FDCT would periodically evaluate all the funded COVID-19 projects and would report the general status to the public.
