“Style‧Encounter Moment” Fashion Parade showcases local designers’ latest achievements

Organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) and co-organized by the Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Center (CPTTM), the “Style‧Encounter Moment” Fashion Parade of Subsidy Programme for Fashion Design on Sample Making was held on 19 October at the Macao Fashion Festival 2019 in the Florence ballroom of The Venetian Macao, showcasing the latest achievements of local fashion designers.


36% of Employers have not yet Paid their Contributions, and FSS Reminds that they can be Fined for their Late Payment

October is the contribution month for the third quarter of the Social Security System. As of 18th October, there are still about 7,700 employers who have not yet paid obligatory system contributions for their employees, accounting for about 36% of the total number of employers who are required to pay contributions. The Social Security Fund (abbreviated to FSS in Macao) reminds employers that they will have to pay a late payment interest and fines if they make their payment late. It is expected that the flow of people at the service point will increase nearing the end of the month. The FSS appeals to employers for making their payments as early as possible and employers who have already applied for the Electronic Filing Service should try to make full use of the electronic payment options available.


Consumer price index (CPI) for September 2019

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the Composite CPI (116.64) for September 2019 increased by 2.73% year-on-year, down by 0.10 percentage points from the 2.83% growth in August 2019. The increment in September was attributable to higher charges for eating out, rising rentals for dwellings and dearer prices of fresh pork and motor cars.


Exchange for the 20th Anniversary of the Return of Sovereignty of Macao banknotes and the Zodiac Banknotes starting today

The exchange for the 20th Anniversary of the Return of Sovereignty of Macao banknotes and for the four previously issued Zodiac Banknotes starts today and will end on 19 December 2019 (Thursday). Each registered Macao resident can bring along his/her valid ID card to the selected bank on the selected date and exchange for 10 pieces of each type of Zodiac banknotes (Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig) and 5 pieces of the 20th Anniversary of the Return of Sovereignty of Macao banknotes of each Issuing Bank, totaling the exchange for 90 pieces of the mentioned banknotes from the two Issuing Banks with exchange amount of MOP1,000.

22nd Lusofonia Festival inaugurated offering the charm of lusophone culture for three consecutive days

Organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau and co-organized by the Macao Government Tourism Office and the Municipal Affairs Bureau, the 22nd Lusofonia Festival is held from 18 to 20 October, at the Taipa Houses, introducing to the public the lusophone culture. Suncity Group 66th Macau Grand Prix – Glittering International Line-Up Announced for November Macau Grand Prix

The Suncity Group 66th Macau Grand Prix will be held from November 14-17. The programme includes six races, of which three of the four headliners are official FIA World Cups. The Macau Grand Prix Organizing Committee (MGPOC) held a press conference today (October 17th) at the Macao Science Center to announce the impressive line-up of international and regional drivers and riders - which includes the defending champions from all four bill-topping races - and to announce details of promotional activities ahead of and during the four-day motorsport extravaganza.


Government studying feasibility of establishing securities market in Macao

The Secretary for Economy and Finance, Mr Leong Vai Tac, today said Government work related to the potential establishment in Macao of a securities market denominated and cleared in renminbi, was supported on two major national initiatives relating to Macao.


Consumer Council released 5th supermarket price survey report of the current month

The Consumer Council conducted its ‘Supermarket price survey’ of the second-half of October on 17 October for the implementation of Section 2b), Article 10, Law 4/95/M of 12 June. Surveyed locations included 14 supermarkets in N. Sra. de Fátima Parish. Consumers may now check the report data on the Council’s website (www.consumer.gov.mo), the “Supermarket Price Information Platform” app, or the Council’s WeChat account.
