CE: Mainland province visits help boost patriotism among Macao youth

The University of Macau (UM) will hold an academic forum titled ‘The Prospect of Research in Humanities, Social Science, Business, Law and Education’ on Thursday (Aug 8). Monetary and financial statistics – June 2019

According to statistics released today by the Monetary Authority of Macao, broad money supply retreated in June with a stable share of patacas. Meanwhile, resident deposits dropped from a month earlier whereas loans to residents posted an increase.

Company statistics for the 2nd quarter of 2019

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that a total of 1,665 new companies were incorporated in the second quarter of 2019, a decrease of 55 year-on-year. Meanwhile, total value of registered capital soared by 879.6% to MOP2 billion, due to the incorporation of companies with large capital in the Transport and Wholesale & Retail sectors. Analysed by industry, there were 529 newly incorporated companies operating in Wholesale & Retail Trade and 395 in Business Services. Companies in dissolution totalled 211 in the second quarter, and the value of registered capital of companies in dissolution amounted to MOP76 million.


DSI launched the transfer service for Certificate of Association and Foundation

To be in line with the SAR Government’s “one stop service” policy, the Identification Services Bureau (DSI) launched the transfer service for Certificate of Association and Foundation on 5 August 2019. Through the collaboration amongst departments, this service will further optimise the public administrative formalities and department’s administration efficiency.


IFT Offered Learning and Experience Camp for Students from Congjian County, Guizhou, PRC

From 23 – 26 July, a total of 32 high school students and teachers from Congjiang County, Guizhou Province, PRC attended the Learning and Experience Camp at Institute for Tourism Studies, Macao.

The agreement between the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) and the Portuguese Republic on surrender of fugitive offenders was formulated in line with international custom and principles adopted internationally concerning such issues.


UM scholar receives Imago Mundi Prize

Mario Cams, an assistant professor from the Department of History (FAH), University of Macau (UM), received the Imago Mundi Prize 2019 at the International Conference for the History of Cartography in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, for his paper titled ‘Not Just a Jesuit Atlas of China: Qing Imperial Cartography and Its European Connections’.
