Notice of the Cultural Affairs Bureau

Due to the fact that typhoon signal no. 8 will be hoisted today (31 July) at 14:00, all activities originally scheduled by the Cultural Affairs Bureau for today, including the 37th Macao Young Musicians Competition – Piano Concerto and all the afternoon workshops at the Macao Cultural Centre, will be cancelled. Further information about the competition and workshops will be announced later.


Online registration for the exchange of 20th Anniversary of the Return of Sovereignty of Macao banknotes and the Zodiac Banknotes commencing soon

The four-week online registration process for the exchange of the 20th Anniversary of the Return of Sovereignty of Macao banknotes and four previously issued Zodiac Banknotes (including the Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig Zodiac Banknotes) by Macao residents will be starting at 9:00 am on 1 August and will end at 6:00 pm on 30 August 2019. The Monetary Authority of Macao would like to remind those citizens who are interested in exchanging for the said banknotes to complete the registration process within the stipulated time period.

The 33rd Macao International Music Festival (MIMF), organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, will be held from 4 to 30 October. This edition of the MIMF, themed ‘The Instrumentalist’, gathers internationally acclaimed musicians and orchestras from around the world and offers 17 programmes in a total of 22 excellent performances, bringing a musical feast of grandeur, bounding spirit and rhythmic melodies and sharing the beauty of music with the general public.
