MGTO partners industry to steer personnel towards effective communication with persons with disabilities to foster accessible tourism

Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) and MGM co-organized the Seminar on “Effective communication with persons with disabilities towards a barrier-free environment” today (25 March), in tandem with the co-launch of the “Power in Our Hands” community e-learning program of Macao sign language. The two collaborative initiatives aim to steer tourism services towards greater accessibility and instill deeper awareness in tourism industry personnel about different special needs, supporting the scheme of the Macao Special Administrative Region Government to optimize the accessibility of the urban environment.


Celebrated chefs gathered in Macao discuss sustainability and vital ingredients for a restaurant at 50BestTalks

Ahead of the highly anticipated announcement of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2019 list and awards ceremony tomorrow evening (March 26) in Macao, visiting chefs from renowned restaurants across Asia joined a session this morning that brought to the table the discussion of sustainable practices and the key elements for a successful restaurant. Culinary arts students in Macao also had the chance to learn from one of the best in the field in an educational session conducted in the afternoon.


Heavyweight Speaks on Green Economy and Industrial Upgrading

Every year, significant contributors to international environmental protection community are invited as keynote speakers to the Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition (MIECF), which is hosted by the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region. This year, MIECF has invited Mr. Michael Liebreich, Founder of New Energy Finance, Former Chairman and Senior Contributor of the Advisory Board at Bloomberg New Energy Finance and Chairman & CEO of Liebreich Associates, as the keynote speaker to share how green economy and industrial upgrading can promote urban sustainable development.



CE meets with CPC Guangzhou Municipal Committee Secretary in Beijing

The Chief Executive, Mr Chui Sai On, met on Sunday (24 March) with the Secretary of the Guangzhou Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), Mr Zhang Shuofu, and the Mayor of Guangzhou, Mr Wen Guohui, while they were all on a visit to Beijing for the China Development Forum 2019. The aim of Sunday’s meeting with the Guangzhou officials was to seize – on a mutual basis – opportunities arising from the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (Greater Bay Area), and to enhance cooperation and exchanges between the two cities.
