3rd Macao Printmaking Triennial extended until May
The “3rd Macao Printmaking Triennial”, organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), has gained wide recognition and support from the public since its inauguration. In order to allow more residents and tourists to appreciate experimental and innovative artworks, the exhibitions at Nostalgic House and Exhibitions Gallery of Taipa Houses will be extended until 19 May and at the Tap Seac Gallery until 31 May.

Publicity materials decided for election of members of Chief Executive Election Committee
The President of the Electoral Affairs Commission for the Chief Executive Election, Ms Song Man Lei, said that the Commission had discussed the publicity effort for the 16 June election that will select members of the Chief Executive Election Committee. Resolutions had been made by the Commission regarding the design of publicity posters and video materials.

Employment survey for December 2018 – February 2019
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the general unemployment rate for December 2018-February 2019 held stable over the previous period (November 2018-January 2019), at 1.7%; the unemployment rate of local residents was 2.3%, down by 0.1 percentage point. Meanwhile, the underemployment rate was 0.5%, up by 0.1 percentage point.

2018 Annual Report of the CCAC of Macao published in Official Gazette
The 2018 Annual Report of the Commission Against Corruption of Macao was published in the Official Gazette of the Macao Special Administrative Region today (27th March). The report points out that among the criminal cases detected by the CCAC in 2018, the cases of taking bribe or advantage by public servants have decreased. However, there was an increase in the crimes such as fraud, document forgery, power abuse, etc. committed by public servants, especially violations of criminal law by leaders of some public services who abused their positions and powers for private gain. The CCAC considers that it is necessary to strengthen the sense of law-abidingness of public servants and the awareness of integrity and dedication to the public of the leadership and management of public services. They shall not take advantage of their powers and positions directly or indirectly for private gain. Moreover, last year the CCAC investigated a number of cases of fraud over government subsidies involving the Fund of Environmental Protection and Energy Saving, the Fund of Continuing Education, etc., demonstrating the need for more stringent criteria for and monitoring of the grant of subsidies by the public services.

Top chefs and restaurateurs from across Asia witnessed in the city the announcement of the highly anticipated annual ranking of the fifty most influential restaurants in Asia along with the presentation of several individual awards. Organized with the support of Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), Macao hosted the world famous gourmet awards for the second consecutive year as part of its efforts to develop as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy.
