The “Green Business Co-operation Day” was successfully held on 28 March, the first day of the “2019 Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition” (2019MIECF). An array of business activities took place, including the Green Forum and Business Exchange, which was joined by over 450 participants. In addition, on the first day, nearly 130 meetings were took place in the Green Matching Area involving participants from Mainland China, Brazil, Portugal, Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao.

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that visitors on package tours totalled 706,000 in February 2019, up by 15.3% year-on-year. Package tour visitors from Mainland China (529,000) and Taiwan (61,000) grew by 14.0% and 14.9% respectively; in addition, those from the Republic of Korea (64,000) and Hong Kong (17,000) surged by 32.8% and 27.7%. In the first two months of 2019, there were 1,475,000 package tour visitors, an increase of 4.3% year-on-year.

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that total merchandise export for February 2019 amounted to MOP923 million, up by 29.1% year-on-year. Value of re-exports (MOP848 million) increased by 37.9%, with that of Beauty, cosmetic & skin-care products and Diamond & diamond jewellery surging by 968.3% and 251.2% respectively. Meanwhile, value of domestic exports (MOP75 million) dropped by 24.9%, with that of Pharmaceutical products & organic chemicals falling by 34.5%. Total merchandise import fell by 12.3% year-on-year to MOP5.67 billion, of which imports of Construction materials, Gold jewellery and Handbags & wallets declined by 33.1%, 32.6% and 26.3% respectively, but imports of Beauty, cosmetic & skin-care products rose by 25.1%. Merchandise trade deficit in February amounted to MOP4.75 billion.

The 30^th Macao Arts Festival (MAF), organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, will be held from 3 May to 2 June.
