UM’s DBA programme now open for applications
The Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) programme for the 2020/2021 academic year, offered by the University of Macau (UM) Faculty of Business Administration (FBA), is now open for applications. The programme aims to nurture business leaders who have a clear understanding of the ever-changing business environment and who can help businesses to seize the opportunities and meet the challenges in an increasingly globalised environment. It places equal emphasis on academic applications and management practices to help students strengthen international business knowledge and research capabilities. Macao Public Library under the Cultural Affairs Bureau relocates Central Book Stack Retrieval services temporarily suspended
In order to optimise and consolidate the storage space of the Central Book Stack of the Macao Public Library under the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from its Portuguese acronym), the Central Book Stack, originally located in Edifício Industrial Tong Lei on Avenida do Almirante Lacerda, will be relocated to the Multifunctional Government Building on Lot O1 in Pac On, Taipa. The new space is currently undergoing interior renovation after which some 400,000 items, including books and audio-visual materials originally stored in the old Central Book Stack, will be re-shelved in the new location. The reservation services for books and audio-visual materials of the Central Book Stack will be suspended from 11 November (Monday) until the relocation has been completed, and the retrieval services will also be suspended until further notice. Meanwhile, retrieval services for books and audio-visual materials from branch libraries will remain available. IC organizes a delegation to participate in the 12th Cross-strait (Xiamen) Cultural Industries Fair
The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) of the Macao SAR Government recently organized a delegation of ten local cultural and creative entities to participate in the 12th Cross-strait (Xiamen) Cultural Industries Fair (hereinafter referred to as “CCCIF”) in Xiamen. The Macao Creative Pavilion has been set up to showcase Macao’s cultural and creative products and services in a bid to expand the market and foster regional cooperation between Fujian and Macao in the cultural and creative fields.

Wages of construction workers and prices of construction materials for the 3rd quarter of 2019
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the average daily wage of construction workers decreased by 3.8% quarter-to-quarter to MOP715 in the third quarter of 2019. The average daily wages of concrete formwork carpenters (MOP705), structural iron erectors (MOP725) and bricklayers & plasterers (MOP690) dropped by 12.2%, 11.4% and 9.0% respectively, while the wages of concreters (MOP763) and welders (MOP901) increased by 13.5% and 9.6% respectively. The average daily wage of local construction workers edged down by 0.1% to MOP986, whereas that of non-resident construction workers grew by 3.0% to MOP615.
