186 Employers Participate in Non-Mandatory Central Provident Fund System, FSS Today Holds another Commendation Ceremony

The non-mandatory central provident fund system (the System) was implemented on 1 January 2018. So far, a total of 186 employers have joined the joint provident fund scheme. After a lapse of one year, the Social Security Fund (abbreviated to FSS in Macao) today (22nd July) held another commendation ceremony to commend employers who have joined the System since the end of July last year. At the ceremony, another 21 employers also expressed their support and intention to participate in the System.


MPI successfully held the “Translation Technology Workshop”

The Translation Technology and Translation Project Management Workshop, jointly organized by the Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI) and the Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU), was successfully held between July 8 and 17 on the main campus of MPI. Teachers from the Chinese-Portuguese and Chinese-English Translation and Interpretation Programme of the School of Language and Translation (ESLT) participated in this workshop.


Consumer Council released 6th supermarket price survey report of the current month

The Consumer Council conducted its ‘Supermarket price survey’ of the second-half of July on 22 July for the implementation of Section 2b), Article 10, Law 4/95/M of 12 June. Surveyed locations included 13 supermarkets in São Lázaro, São Lourenço and Sé Parishes. Consumers may now check the report data on the Council’s website (www.consumer.gov.mo), the “Supermarket Price Information Platform” app, or the Council’s WeChat account.


The “2nd China and Portuguese-speaking Countries Film Festival” concludes successfully

The “China and Portuguese-speaking Countries Film Festival”, featured in the “2nd Encounter in Macao – Arts and Cultural Festival between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries” concluded successfully on 17 July. During the Film Festival, over 20 films were screened at the Macao Cultural Centre and the Cinematheque‧Passion, with great participation and overwhelming support from aficionados. This Film Festival has established a cultural exchange platform for films from China and Portuguese-speaking countries and provided Macao’s productions more screening opportunities, allowing more people to know about the local film development.


“Art Macao” diversified exhibitions become artistic hot spots in summer

This summer, “Art Macao”, a six-month mega event, brings an immersive cultural atmosphere to the entire city as an art gallery and art garden. Diversified art exhibitions and large-scale outdoor installations are displayed at various locations, breaking through the limitations of space and allowing art lovers to feel the artistic ambience of Macao in this hot summer.




Secretary Tam: National progress inspires young people to serve Macao

The four-day visit to Hunan Province by a group of young Macao people helped them to understand better the nation’s development in a number of areas, including in the fields of science and technology. Such achievements were a source of inspiration for them to contribute further to Macao’s development strategy.
