[Bay Area Fair for Trade in Services] Promoting Macao’s Integration with the Greater Bay Area and Supporting the National High-level Openness

Chief Executive Ho Iat Seng delivered a video speech at the opening ceremony of the Third Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Fair for Trade in Services today (31 Oct). He emphasised that Macao would seize the opportunities in the construction of the Greater Bay Area and the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Co-Operation Zone in Hengqin, proactively aligning the development of the Greater Bay Area, and better serving the national high-level openness and high-quality development.


UTM holds 2024 Scholarship and Fellowship Presentation Ceremony

The Macao University of Tourism (UTM) held its 2024 Scholarship and Fellowship Presentation Ceremony on 8 November, presenting more than 300 scholarships to students who demonstrated outstanding performance in academic achievements, global internships, research and exchange activities.


Myanmar grants visa-on-arrival to Macao SAR Passport holders

The Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region has received the notification from the Consulate General of the Republic of Union of Myanmar in Hong Kong that holders of the Macao SAR Passport arriving at international airports of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar can apply for the Tourist Visa On Arrival for tourism purpose for a maximum stay of 30 days. This measure is put into use on a trial basis for one year starting from 21st October 2024. Under the management of Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), the Macao Grand Prix Museum (the “Museum”) is unveiling a series of activities themed around the Macau Grand Prix in collaboration with integrated resort enterprises in November, in active support of the upcoming 71st Macau Grand Prix. As part of the series, the exhibition of Wynn Special Chocolate F1, co-presented by the Museum and Wynn, kicked off today (8 November). The Government and various resort enterprises join hands to manifest Macao’s glamorous “tourism + sports”, enrich the offerings of the world centre of tourism and leisure, and brighten the city’s golden calling card as an international metropolis.





【Enhance service quality】 MGTO announces the all-time high list of 390 awarded merchants of 2024 at Annual Meeting of QTSAS Assessment Committee

The Assessment Committee of the Quality Tourism Services Accreditation Scheme (QTSAS or the “Scheme”) convened its Annual Meeting of 2024 yesterday (7 November) to review and approve the assessment results and the list of 390 accredited merchants in the three categories namely travel agencies, catering and retail businesses in 2024. The number of accredited merchants is an all-time high, bespeaking the trade’s efforts in advancing their service quality and jointly promoting sustainable development in tourism and the related sectors.
