Lunar New Year Card

Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau will issue a new greeting card for Lunar Year of the Dog titled “The Year of the Dog brings blessing”. This card will be available for sale at the General Post Office, all post offices and postal kiosks on 8th January, 2018.


“Annual Album of Stamps 2017” and “Annual Album of Souvenir Sheets 2017”

Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau will issue two annual albums on 10th January 2018, which are “Annual Album of Stamps 2017” and “Annual Album of Souvenir Sheets 2017”. Their covers are printed in orange and pink respectively, illustrated with the design of a feather and surrounded by a gold and silver egg-shaped line, signify the creativity of the stamp designers, on which the technical data are printed on the pages.


“Macao's Lunar Year of the Dog” Lucky Ornament

To celebrate the coming Chinese New Year, Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau will issue a lucky ornament titled “Macao’s Lunar Year of the Dog” on 5th January 2018. It is engraved with laser techniques for highlighting our headquarters’ building and a thin wooden card with the wooden dog stamp image is affixed on the other side. The unique design is certainly a precious and commemorative collectable. It will be available for sale at the General Post Office, the “Rua do Campo” Post Office, the Maritime Ferry Terminal Post Office, the Airport Post Office and the Communications Museum. The selling price is MOP15.00.


Government strictly enforcing extended ban on smoking

As of 5pm on 1 January, the Heath Bureau had taken action against 15 individuals who had breached the terms of the city’s amended Regime of Tobacco Prevention and Control that came into force after midnight that day.


90% of ATMs Installed with KYC Promoting Financial Security of Macao

To protect the legal interests of financial institutions and holders of Mainland bankcards, 1,040 ATMs in Macao have already been installed with KYC function. Holders of Mainland issued CUP, Visa, Master, American Express, JCB, Diners Club and Discover cards can go through the normal cash withdrawal process through ATMs with “KYC ATM” logo after their respective identities are verified. The relevant withdrawal services have been running smooth and irregular withdrawal activities have been stopped since the implementation of the above measures, promoting the security of the financial system of Macao.


MGTO Monthly Publication “Macao Travel Talk” Introduces New Interface and Functions

Macao Government Tourism Office's (MGTO) monthly publication for tourism industry stakeholders - Macao Travel Talk (MTT) - has been upgraded to optimize its current features and provide several new functions to its users for more enhanced reading experience.


Consumer Council conducts price survey on selling prices of fresh pork and vegetables from Zhuhai and Macao

For the implementation of Section 2b), Article 10, Law 4/95/M of 12 June, Consumer Council collects prices of fresh pork from wet markets and supermarkets on 2 January for consumers’ reference. The mentioned data collected during 27 December of 2017 to 2 January of 2018 are used for comparing the average selling price of the same products from Zhuhai. The relevant data has been uploaded to the Council’s website for consumers’ reference.


UM student receives Top Student Paper Award at annual convention of National Communication Association

Dorji Wangchuk, a PhD student from the Department of Communication, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Macau (UM), recently received the Top Student Paper Award at the 103rd Annual Convention of the National Communication Association (NCA) held in Dallas, Texas, United States. The award was conferred by the Religious Communication Association (RCA), an affiliate organisation of the NCA.
