Commemorative postmark cancellation service of“22nd Macao International Trade & Investment Fair”

To celebrate the 22nd Macao International Trade & Investment Fair, Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau that a Temporary Post Counter will be set up at Venetian Macao Convention & Exhibition Centre and our Philately Shop located at Macao Post Headquarters during 19th to 21st October 2017 providing the commemorative postmark cancellation service for the “22nd Macao International Trade & Investment Fair”.


Imaginative children’s theatre at CCM A fantastic world of cats, dogs, peas and princesses

The Macao Cultural Centre, under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, presents two programmes for little children and their families to be staged this December. Spanish company Teatre Animal bring us Like Cat & Dog, an interactive multimedia theatre for kids four years old and above. Babies and toddlers will also have their moment with A Little Lamp, Pea and Feather, a theatrical adaptation of an Andersen’s classic tale, running from December 29.


The Macao Tea Culture House will be temporarily closed for maintenance

Due to the maintenance work, the Macao Tea Culture House, under the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC), will be closed from 9 to 18 October. It will reopen to the public on 19 October.


Results of construction sector survey 2016

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that Value of Construction Work Done by the Construction Sector decreased by 13.9% year-on-year to MOP79.38 billion in 2016, due to the successive completion of large-scale hotels and entertainment facilities as well as a decrease in private residential projects. Total Receipts (comprising Value of Construction Work Done and Other Receipts) of the sector amounted to MOP81.15 billion, down by 13.1%. Intermediate Consumption (MOP61.66 billion) and Labour Cost (MOP12.05 billion) went down by 11.7% and 17.0% respectively. Gross Surplus, which equals Total Receipts less Intermediate Consumption and Labour Cost, dropped by 17.4% to MOP7.43 billion. Gross Value Added that measures the sectoral contribution to the economy totalled MOP19.48 billion, down by 17.2%.


Monetary and financial statistics – August 2017

According to statistics released today by the Monetary Authority of Macao, broad money supply continued to grow in August with a stable share of patacas. Meanwhile, both resident deposits and loans increased from a month earlier.


Macao SAR Passport holders can use UK’s Registered Traveller Service

The Identification Services Bureau has been confirmed by the British Consulate-General in Hong Kong that Macao SAR Passport holders are eligible to join the UK’s Registered Traveller Service (RTS). Upon approval and payment, applicants can enter and exit the UK using either the ePassport gates or by using the UK/EU entry lane at designated airports without the need to fill in a landing card, which will expedite the clearance of Macao SAR Passport holders through the UK border.


“Intellectual Property as Part of a Support Framework in Business Management Strategy” Workshop

The workshop on “Intellectual Property as part of a support framework in Business Management Strategy”, as organised by the Macao Economic Services (DSE) and integrated as part of the 3rd Macao SAR–EU Co-operation Programme in the Legal Field, is going to take place on October 10 and 11, from 9:30 to 12:40, in the Auditorium of the Public Administration Building located in Rua do Campo n. ° 162, basement 1.


20th Lusofonia Festival

Organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) and the Permanent Secretariat of Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and the Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao), and co-organized by the Macao Government Tourism Office and the Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau, the 20th Lusofonia Festival will be held from 19 to 22 October, at the Taipa-Houses for four consecutive days. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the event, and therefore the duration of the event had been extended to 4 days. The Festival offers a diversified programme of activities, namely gastronomy, music and dance shows and games. All residents and tourists are welcome to participate in the event, and experience the joyful, cheerful and harmonious atmosphere and the multiculturalism of the Macao Special Administrative Region.


Global Tourism Economy Forum • Macao 2017 Regional Collaboration towards a Better Future
