Consumer Council conducts price survey on selling prices of fresh pork and vegetables from Zhuhai and Macao

For the implementation of Section 2b), Article 10, Law 4/95/M of 12 June, Consumer Council on 29 August collects prices of fresh pork from wet markets and supermarkets for consumers’ reference. The mentioned data collected during 23 August to 29 August are used for comparing the average selling price of the same products from Zhuhai. The relevant data has been uploaded to the Council’s website for consumers’ reference.


Cultural Affairs Bureau continues to give post-typhoon assistance to heritage buildings

In order to promptly restore and maintain the heritage buildings affected by the typhoon, the Cultural Affairs Bureau has contacted the owners and representatives of the administrators of 44 temples and 17 churches in order to discuss the follow-up works tomorrow, 30 August, including the relevant maintenance works and the implementation of specific restoration and protection measures, in order to ensure the comprehensive safety of heritage buildings.


Results of survey on manpower needs and wages for the 2nd Quarter of 2017

The Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) released results of the Survey on Manpower Needs and Wages for the second quarter of 2017. Survey coverage comprises Wholesale & Retail Trade; Transport, Storage & Communications; Security Activities and Public Sewage & Refuse Disposal Activities; however, own-account workers are excluded.


CCAC commenced investigation into typhoon forecasting procedures of Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau

Recently, the CCAC has received media enquiries about whether it will carry out an investigation of the possible flaws in the typhoon forecasts issued by the Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (SMG) and hereby gives the following information:


IPIM Organises Delegation of Representatives from the Convention, Exhibition and Tourism Industries to participate CIBTM in Beijing

Following the recent organisation of delegations of representatives from the local convention, exhibition and tourism industries to Frankfurt, Melbourne and Shanghai and to promote the strengths of Macao´s conventions and exhibitions, Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) arranged for a new delegation to visit Beijing, on23 to 24 August, to participate in the China (Beijing) Incentive, Business Travel & meetings Exhibition (CIBTM 2017). Apart from participating in the said event and attending the related activities, IPIM also set up a “Macao Pavilion” at the venue and arranged over 500 business-matching sessions. Participating enterprises said that they were able to get in touch with prospective customers from Mainland China and overseas in the different sectors, which was beneficial to their business development.


Update of requests for assistance received from tourists affected by the typhoons

As of 12:00 today (August 29), the Tourism Crisis Management Office (GGCT) received a total of 20 requests for assistance from Macao residents due to return flight cancellations caused by the "Hato" and “Pakhar” typhoons.All of the 141 residents involved have already returned.


Event Cancellation CCM cancels Songs of Lear

Given the impact caused by typhoon Hato, the Macao Cultural Centre, under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, has cancelled Songs of Lear, an alternative performance by Polish company Song of the Goat which was scheduled for September 10, at the Grand Auditorium.

To commemorate “The Commencing Day of the Electoral Campaign for the 2017 Legislative Assembly Election”, Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau announces that a Temporary Post Counter will be set up at Praça do Tap Seac on 2nd September 2017, from 11:00 to 15:00 providing the commemorative postmark cancellation service for the “The Commencing Day of the Electoral Campaign for the 2017 Legislative Assembly Election 2017”.


Government, Macao public thankful to PLA for post-typhoon relief support

The Government and the Macao public are thankful to the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Macao Garrison for the efficient support provided in relief work in the aftermath of Typhoon Hato.


New commission gazetted to review disaster response mechanism system

The Government has gazetted a commission to review and optimise the existing mechanism system for response to major disasters, including the release of meteorological information and coordination of civil protection work.
