Celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 25th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Macao SAR—Retrospective Exhibition of Macao Decorative Archways for the Celebration of China’s National Day

Organised by the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) and the Oral History Association of Macao, co-organised by the Macau Artist Society, and supported by Macao Daily News, the “Celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 25th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region—Retrospective Exhibition of Macao Decorative Archways for the Celebration of China’s National Day” will be launched on 20 September in the IAM Gallery. Through displaying precious photos of the decorative archways, their design drawings, and interviews with craftsmen, the exhibition with rich, invaluable content showcases the development and changes of the archways built to celebrate the National Day since the late 1940s.

Macao Orchestra 2024-25 Concert Season to be Unveiled by “A Midsummer Night’s Dream with Sylvia Chang and Lio Kuokman”

Macao Orchestra 2024-25 Concert Season will be unveiled on 31 August (Saturday) at 8pm at Macao Cultural Centre Grand Auditorium. Lio Kuokman, the Music Director and Principal Conductor of Macao Orchestra, in collaboration with Sylvia Chang, the award-winning actress, will present the Opening Concert “A Midsummer Night’s Dream with Sylvia Chang and Lio Kuokman” for music enthusiasts. A cocktail reception will be held before the Concert and music enthusiasts are welcome to join in.


Macao Chinese Orchestra New Concert Season Kicks Off with “Splendor of the Strings” Highlighting the Charm of Chinese Sizhu Music with Diverse Music Styles

Macao Chinese Orchestra 2024-25 Season Opening Concert “Splendor of the Strings” will be held on 1 September (Sunday) at 8pm at Macao Cultural Centre Grand Auditorium. Under the baton of Zhang Lie, the new Music Director and Principal Conductor, the Macao Chinese Orchestra, joined by the violinist Lao Li, the Chinese percussion performer Yin Fei, the Western percussion performer Liu Heng, and the Sheng performer Jia Lei, will demonstrate a perfect combination of Chinese and Western instruments.

IPIM Invites CCAC to Hold an Integrity Seminar

To consolidate the integrity and legal awareness of personnel, the Commerce of Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) invited the Commission Against Corruption (CCAC) to hold a seminar on "Integrity and Upright Conduct" on 27 August. Many leaders, supervisors and their subordinates of IPIM attended the seminar.



Macau-Digit Force Joint Laboratory of Intelligent Interaction inaugurated

The University of Macau (UM) and Macau Digit Force Technology Co Ltd held a plaque unveiling ceremony for the University of Macau-Digit Force Joint Laboratory of Intelligent Interaction. The joint laboratory will focus on assisting various industries in adopting artificial intelligence (AI) to create new productivity models and promote the rapid development of AI technology. It aims to set an example for industry-academia collaboration in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and foster deeper integration and technological innovation between Macao and the Greater Bay Area.



Macao International Music Festival to present multiple prominent programmes

Themed ‘And the Stars Shine’, the 36th Macao International Music Festival organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau is dedicated to presenting the audience a star-studded musical feast with timeless melodies. Four prominent programmes are specially recommended, including Leonidas Kavakos and the ApollΩn Ensemble, Mariinsky Orchestra, Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, and Mariza and the Macao Chinese Orchestra, and a pre-show talk will be given one hour before for the first three programmes. In addition, co-artistic directors of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, Wu Han and David Finckel, will host a piano masterclass and a cello masterclass respectively on 27 October to share their playing techniques. The public are welcome to register for the pre-show talks and masterclasses via Macao One Account.
