Foreign exchange reserves and nominal effective exchange rate index for the pataca – May 2024

The Monetary Authority of Macao announced today (14 June) that the preliminary estimate of Macao SAR’s foreign exchange reserves amounted to MOP228.4 billion (USD28.37 billion) at the end of May 2024. The reserves decreased by 0.3% from the revised value of MOP229.2 billion (USD28.43 billion) for the previous month. Macao SAR’s foreign exchange reserves at end-May 2024 represented 11 times the currency in circulation or 90.8% of pataca M2 at end-April 2024.


Inclusion of new stamp theme for Year 2024

Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau announces that a new stamp theme will be included in 2024: “50th Anniversary of the Inauguration of Governor Nobre de Carvalho Bridge” to be issued on 5th October.

The Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) joined this year’s Lisbon Festivities for the first time since the pandemic. Programme “Local View Power 2023” premieres various productions at the end of the month

Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, the programme “Local View Power 2023” will be held from 27 to 30 June at the Galaxy Cinemas, premiering nine local productions in six sessions on the big screen, covering documentaries, short features and animation movies, with diverse narratives and visual styles. Tickets are on sale from today.
