Electoral Affairs Commission issues reminder on voting confidentiality for Sunday election

Preparations have run smoothly for the election scheduled for Sunday (11 August) to choose members for the Chief Executive Election Committee, said today the President of the Electoral Affairs Commission for the Chief Executive Election, Ms Song Man Lei.


UM holds UAUC joint meeting, Ho Iat Seng hopes UM contributes to high-quality development of Macao and country

The University of Macau (UM) held the Joint Meeting of the University Assembly (UA) and University Council (UC) for the 2023/2024 academic year at its Ho Yin Conference Hall today (8 August ). Ho Iat Seng, chief executive of the Macao SAR, chancellor of UM and chair of UA, presided over the meeting. During the meeting, he said that Macao is in a new stage of development and should take advantage of its special status and distinctive strengths in national development to promote economic diversification. UM should help develop China into a leading country in education, promote the development of new quality productive forces, and support the country’s high-quality development.


Cultural Affairs Bureau hosts “The Belt and Road Cultural Talk Series” to explore the mystery of Sogdian civilization

Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, the fourth lecture entitled “Sogdiana, its mural paintings and religious art: A forgotten civilization from pre-Islamic Central Asia”, integrated in “The Belt and Road Cultural Talk Series – Collections of Mural Paintings”, hosted by Professor Matteo Compareti from the Capital Normal University in Beijing, will be held on 8 September (Sunday), at 3pm, at the Auditorium of the Macao Museum of Art, unveiling the mystery of Sogdian civilization with the public. Admission is free and registration for the lecture is now open. Interested parties are welcome to register through the Macao One Account.


Performance to Celebrate the National Day and the Haojiang Moonlight Night – Dance Drama “Wing Chun” to be staged in Macao

In order to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival and the National Day with the public, the “Performance to Celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the National Day of the People’s Republic of China and the Haojiang Moonlight Night” – Dance Drama “Wing Chun” will be held on 13 and 14 September, at 8pm, at the Macao Cultural Centre Grand Auditorium. Tickets are on sale from 11 August (Sunday).


Exhibition of Calligraphic Documents by Huang Tingjian to be held at Tap Seac Gallery

Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portugues acronym) of the Macao SAR Government and the People’s Government of Xiushui County, Jiangxi Province, People’s Republic of China and coordinated by the Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism Bureau of Xiushui County, Jiangxi Province, Red Genes and Cultural Heritage Development Centre of Xiushui County, Jiangxi Province; and Huang Tingjian Memorial Hall of Jiangxi Province (Xiushui County Museum), “The Way of Huang Tingjian – Exhibition of Calligraphic Documents” will be inaugurated on 15 August (Thursday), at 12pm, at the Tap Seac Gallery. All are welcome to attend the ceremony.






UM organises exhibition on achievements of volunteer teaching project in Guizhou

Chao Kuang Piu College (CKPC) of the University of Macau (UM) and the Rui Cunha Foundation have jointly organised the exhibition ‘Sunshine in the Mountains’ to showcase the achievements of CKPC’s volunteer teaching project at Gantuan Mei’e Primary School in Congjiang County, Guizhou Province, over the past six years. The exhibition is held at the Rui Cunha Foundation Gallery until 10 August. It aims to deepen the public’s understanding of the living conditions of children in remote mountainous areas and showcase the enthusiasm and dedication of university students in their engagement in social services.
