MPU Rector Talks Interdisciplinary Education at THE Global AI Forum

Marcus Im, Rector of Macao Polytechnic University (MPU), spoke at the Times Higher Education (THE) Global AI Forum. During the Presidential Chat session, Marcus Im shared insights on interdisciplinary education as a burgeoning trend for nurturing talent, along with the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on higher education.


FSS Calls on Old-Age and Disability Pension Beneficiaries to Provide Proof of Life Electronically

The Social Security Fund (abbreviated to FSS in Macao) said that under the law, beneficiaries of the Social Security System’s old-age and disability pension must provide proof of life every year. In the year 2025, nearly 170,000 people are involved. Starting at 9 a.m. on 1 January, beneficiaries can use the "Macao One Account" mobile app to provide proof of life through facial recognition. There is no need to visit the FSS or related service points. It is applicable even outside Macao, which is convenient and fast.



MPU Hosts Open Day 2025 on January 4

Macao Polytechnic University (MPU) will hold its Open Day 2025 on Saturday, January 4. The event will feature presentations on degree programmes, thematic exhibitions, workshops, experiential activities, sharing sessions, admissions consultations, and campus tours. These activities aim to give the wider community an in-depth understanding of MPU’s academic programmes, teaching and research achievements, and to provide visitors with a first-hand experience of university life and the vibrant cultural diversity of its campus. Graduating secondary school students, professionals, parents, and all interested parties are welcome to join.


Slaughtering to suspend for one day on New Year’s Day holiday of slaughterhouse

According to the notification from the Macau Slaughter House Ltd., it will be a one-day holiday for the slaughterhouse this Wednesday (1 January 2025). Normal slaughtering will resume on the next day (2 January). Businesses and consumers are advised to pay attention to the arrangement.


Opening arrangement of badminton courts at the Macao East Asian Games Dome and the Olympic Sports Centre

The badminton courts at the Macao East Asian Games Dome will reopen to the public on January 6 of 2025 (Monday), and the online booking service will resume starting January 3 of 2025 (Friday), allowing residents to make reservations for the next three days to practice sports and physical exercise.


IAM sets up mobile stations for processing dog license application and renewal and adds adoption enquiry service

To provide convenience for owners to process services for application and renewal of dog licenses and rabies vaccination, the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) will set up “Mobile Service Stations for Dog License Application and Renewal” in various districts in Macao between 4 January and 15 February 2025. A new booth for pet adoption enquiry is also added at the stations to continuously promote adoption instead of purchase.
