Photography exhibition of Candida Höfer ends this Sunday

The exhibition ‘Candida Höfer: Epic Gaze’, organised by the Macao Museum of Art (MAM) under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, is the first large-scale photography exhibition of the internationally renowned artist held in Macao. The exhibition will close this Sunday (19 May) and those who are interested are advised to seize the opportunity to visit and experience the impressive artistry of her large, space-themed photographic works.


Certain areas of the Mandarin’s House will be closed and the Former Iec Long Firecracker Factory will close early due to the performances of the 34th Macao Arts Festival

Due to the performances Experimental Kunqu Opera “The Chairs” and Impression of Iec Long, integrated in the 34th Macao Arts Festival, certain areas of the Mandarin’s House (including inner courtyard, front courtyard, Yuqing Mansion and Jishan Mansion) will be closed from 24 to 26 May, from 2pm to 6pm. Also, the Former Iec Long Firecracker Factory will close at 6pm on 28 May, and from 30 May to 2 June.


Survey on vocational training 2023

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that there were 66 vocational training institutions in 2023, an increase of 7 year-on-year. Number of persons engaged totalled 1,834 at the end of the year, up by 75; among them, number of teachers (full-time and part-time) went up by 81 to 1,084.



Eligibility requirements relaxed : Macau residents aged 18 or above can buy Macau New Neighbourhood

Eligibility requirements at Macau New Neighbourhood (MNN) in Hengqin have been relaxed. Effective as of 13 May, Macau residents aged 18 or above holding a Macau identity card issued by the Macau Special Administrative Region (MSAR) Identification Services Bureau (DSI) can buy a residential unit in MNN.


Macao International Museum Day Carnival 2024 highlights an atmosphere spiced by World Heritage and presents the beauty of museums

In order to celebrate the International Museum Day on 18 May, 22 museums in Macao co-organised the annual event of the museum sector, the “Macao International Museum Day Carnival 2024”. The event was held in a lively atmosphere and featured a wide range of intriguing activities, including dance performances, game booths, experience activities, workshops and online games, unleashing the charm of museums in the community, attracting the active participation of residents.


Xia Baolong to visit Macao

The Director of the Hong Kong and Macao Work Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Director of the State Council’s Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office, Mr Xia Baolong, will visit Macao from 13 to 19 May, in order to get better understanding on the latest developments in Macao society and its economy.
