1st Macao International Shorts Film Festival inaugurated

The 1st Macao International Shorts Film Festival (hereinafter referred to as “Shorts Film Festival”), co-organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau and Galaxy Entertainment Group, will be held from 23 to 30 March, featuring an opening ceremony and opening screening, screening activities, thematic workshops, lectures by masters, as well as a closing and award ceremony, with over 50 local and international short and feature films.



Tickets for the 34th Macao Arts Festival on sale from this Saturday

Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), the 34th Macao Arts Festival (MAF), themed “Wondrous Encounters”, will be held from 3 May to 7 June, featuring 19 selected programmes covering theatre, Chinese opera, dance, circus, music and visual arts. Tickets will be on sale simultaneously through the Macau Ticketing Network outlets, telephone and online booking from 10am on 23 March (Saturday). The public is welcome to purchase tickets online or by telephone to facilitate the purchase process.


Consumer price index (CPI) for February 2024

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the Composite CPI for February 2024 grew by 1.46% year-on-year, partly caused by the relatively high prices during the Lunar New Year that fell in February this year but took place in January last year.


Survey on information technology usage in the household sector for 2023

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that there were 198,900 households with Internet access in 2023, accounting for 97.3% of the total number of households in Macao (204,400), up by 1.5 percentage points year-on-year. Among them, 98.8% (196,600) of the households accessed the Internet via mobile network, an increase of 0.9 percentage points.


[Inviting Investment Projects in 1+4 Industries to Macao and Hengqin] Taking Multiple Measures to Optimise the One-Stop Service to Foster the “1+4” Appropriate Economic Diversification

In line with the “1+4” strategy for appropriate economic diversification and the Macao-Hengqin synergistic industrial development, the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) has implemented a number of optimisation measures on the Investor’s One-Stop Service to further align with the Macao-Hengqin joint investment promotion mechanism. In 2024, IPIM, in co-ordination with relevant departments of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Co-operation Zone in Hengqin (the Co-operation Zone), will establish a new “prior technical meeting” mechanism in the Co-operation Zone, to provide guidance on the license applications and to streamline the application process for projects to be established in the Co-operation Zone.


MPU shortlisted in the top eight of the Times Higher Education Awards Asia earning international recognition in environmental technology innovation

Macao Polytechnic University (MPU) has been shortlisted as one of the top eight finalists for the "Outstanding Contribution to Environmental Leadership" category in the Times Higher Education Awards Asia 2024. This recognition showcases MPU's strengths in environmental research and education, drawing international acclaim. The award aims to honour higher education institutions demonstrating leadership in environmental contribution, with prestigious universities like the University of Hong Kong and the National University of Singapore also in the running. The winner will be announced at the end of April.

[Precise Investment Promotion for 1+4 Industries] IPIM Holds Business Exchange Session to Invite Hubei Large Catering Enterprises to Invest in Macao

The Macao Catering Industry Business Exchange Session was held in Wuhan yesterday (20th), attracting over 20 large catering chain enterprises in Hubei province to the event. Through sharing session and one-on-one consultation, the participants learned about Macao’s catering business environment, company incorporation and license application procedures. Some catering enterprises submitted their investment proposals and intended to expand their business to Macao through the Investor’s One-stop Service provided by IPIM.
