[Grasping China-PSC Opportunities] The “Conference of Entrepreneurs”, supporting activity for the “6th Ministerial Conference of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao)”, will be held tomorrow (23 April)

One of the supporting activities of the “6th Ministerial Conference of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao)”, the “Conference of Entrepreneurs” will be held tomorrow (23 April), at the China-Portuguese-speaking Countries Commercial and Trade Service Platform Complex, with the theme “Promoting the New Trends of Digital Transformation and Sharing the New Opportunities Presented by Green Development”. This conference will gather heavyweight guests in Macao: leaders and representatives from governments, trade promotion organisations, chambers of commerce, and enterprises from mainland China, the nine Portuguese-speaking Countries (PSC), and the Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area will attend, assisting companies in seizing the forefront opportunities of digital transformation and green development.


Statistical Data on Anti-illegal Worker Operations in March 2024

Concerning the Public Security Police Force’s operations and the Labour Affairs Bureau’s operations as well as various joint operations against illegal workers in March 2024, the figures are set out below:


“Above Zobeide, Exhibition from Macao, China” inaugurated at the 60th International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia

“Above Zobeide, Exhibition from Macao, China”, the Collateral Event of the 60th International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia, was inaugurated on 18th April, at 5:00pm (local time) in Venice, Italy. Curated by Chang Chan, the exhibition showcases large-scale art installations and digital prints created by the young Macao artist Wong Weng Cheong, presenting a fictional world while conveying concerns about the development of human civilisation.



Visitor arrivals for the 1st quarter of 2024

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that visitor arrivals soared by 79.4% year-on-year to 8,875,757 in the first quarter of 2024, recovering to 85.7% of the figure in the same quarter of 2019. Same-day visitors (4,791,721) and overnight visitors (4,084,036) showed respective growth of 107.5% and 54.8% year-on-year. Meanwhile, the average length of stay of visitors decreased by 0.1 day year-on-year to 1.2 days; the duration for overnight visitors (2.2 days) went down by 0.1 day, while that for same-day visitors (0.3 day) held stable.
