The Chief Executive, Mr Ho Iat Seng, met with the Ambassador of Portugal to China, Mr Paulo Jorge Pereira do Nascimento, to discuss Macao’s platform role between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, strengthening economic and trade cooperation, and patrimony linked to Portuguese culture, and its conservation.

Cultural Affairs Bureau performs regular website maintenance on 31 March
In order to ensure the proper operation of its information technology system, the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym)will perform regular maintenance on its website firewall from 8pm to 10pm on 31 March. Therefore, the operation of several websites will be temporarily suspended, including the Cultural Affairs Bureau website and its sub-websites, the websites of the Cultural Heritage of Macao, the Macao World Heritage, the Macao Conservatory, the Archives of Macao, the Macao Museum of Art, the Macao Museum, the Macao Cultural Centre, the Macao Cultural and Creative Industries and the arts and cultural festivals, among others. In addition, the Booking System for the use of Artistic and Cultural Spaces, the Filming Permit Application Platform,the Online Book Shopof the Cultural Affairs Bureau, the Database for Macao Cultural and Creative Industries and the mobile application “WH Macau” will also be unavailable during the abovementioned period. The normal operation of the websites will resume once the maintenance work is completed.

Package tours and hotel occupancy rate for February 2023
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that a total of 126 hotel establishments offered accommodation services to the public in February 2023, an increase of 6 year-on-year. Besides, the total number of available guest rooms rose by 0.3% to 39,000. The average occupancy rate of guest rooms in February went up by 27.5 percentage points year-on-year to 76.1%; the rates for2-star and 3-star hotels both exceeded 80%, representing respective growth of 52.6 percentage points and 31.0 percentage points.

The Financial Intelligence Office of Macao visited the relevant anti-money laundering agencies of the People's Bank of China
With the easing of the epidemic and relaxation of border control measures, economic activities and movement of people between Mainland and Macao were gradually resumed. In order to enhance the cooperation mechanism and the effectiveness of prevention and control of cross-border money laundering risks, regular meetings and visits were held by the Financial Intelligence Office (GIF) with counterparts in Mainland. The director of GIF, Chu Un I, and other representatives went to Beijing from 22 to 24 March 2023, to meet with the Anti-Money Laundering Bureau (AMLB) of the People's Bank of China, the China Anti-Money Laundering Monitoring and Analysis Center (CAMLMAC) and the National Internet Finance Association of China (NIFA).
