Macao Orchestra “Tribute to Brahms” Concert Series Romantic masterpieces presented in collaboration with internationally acclaimed performers

As part of its 2024-25 concert season, the Macao Orchestra will present the “Tribute to Brahms” Concert Series over two consecutive weekends at the Macao Cultural Centre from 7 March. Five concerts with different themes featuring Brahms' most representative works will be performed by the Macao Orchestra and internationally renowned musicians, offering a multifaceted tribute to this 19th-century Romantic virtuoso.


Optimisation works of pavements near Praça de Ferreira do Amaral to commence next Monday

For enhancement of the pavements near Praça de Ferreira do Amaral, the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) will commence the optimisation works of Praça de Ferreira do Amaral and the surrounding roads (third phase) by zones and in stages next Monday to improve the pedestrian environment and carry out repairs and beautification of the related pedestrian underpass. During the period, the construction areas will be enclosed. The public are advised to pay attention to the arrangements and safety.


Company statistics for the whole year and 4th quarter of 2024

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that a total of 4,555 new companies were incorporated in 2024, a decrease of 456 year-on-year. Total value of registered capital of the new companies fell by 37.5% year-on-year to MOP1.03 billion. Number of companies in dissolution was 1,098 in 2024, and the value of registered capital of these companies amounted to MOP451 million. Number of companies showed a net increase of 3,457, down by 636 year-on-year.




IPIM Organises Nearly 50 MICE Representatives from GBA to Participate in the 2025 UFI Asia Pacific Conference

The Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) joins hands with the Macao Government Tourism Office to organise a delegation consisting of nearly 10 representatives from the Macao MICE industry, and nearly 40 representatives from the MICE industry of nine cities in the Greater Bay Area, who are mobilised by Macao’s MICE sector for the first time, to participate in an annual industry highlight – “2025 UFI Asia Pacific Conference” taking place in Melbourne, Australia from 13 to 14 February. It is anticipated that over 200 leaders in the global MICE industry will be in attendance at the conference.


MPU Research Achievements Selected as ESI Global Top 0.1% Hot Papers

Yi Tao, Associate Professor from the Faculty of Health Sciences and Sports (FCSD) of Macao Polytechnic University (MPU), in collaboration with a team from the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, has been investigating the application of electrospun nanofibers in drug delivery, and his research efforts have led to the publication of numerous papers in international journals. Notably, a number of these papers have been selected as ESI top 0.1% hot papers and top 1% highly cited papers, which demonstrates significant influence and citation value, contributing substantially to research progress and application in relevant fields.


Mortgage loans statistics – December 2024

According to statistics released today (11 February) by the Monetary Authority of Macao, new approvals of residential mortgage loans (RMLs) and commercial real estate loans (CRELs) both decreased month-on-month in December 2024. With regard to the outstanding balances, both RMLs and CRELs witnessed declines on a monthly basis.


Maritime Museum to be closed temporarily for maintenance and reopen on 25 April

The Maritime Museum will be closed temporarily from 19 February, 2025 for the maintenance works of the central air-conditioning system and other facilities. The Museum will reopen to the public on 25 April, 2025. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
