Five colleges celebrate UM Henry Fok Pearl Jubilee College’s 15th anniversary

Henry Fok Pearl Jubilee College (HFPJC) of the University of Macau (UM) held a study camp for faculty and students from Lee Woo Sing College of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), Diligentia College of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen), Xiuzhong College of Tsinghua University, and Nanyang College of Xi’an Jiaotong University. During the camp, members of the five colleges gathered to celebrate the 15th anniversary of HFPJC.


Residential property price index for the whole year and October – December of 2024

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the overall average residential property price index for 2024 decreased by 11.7% year-on-year to 215.8. The indices for existing residential units (232.7) and pre-sale residential units (268.7) dropped by 11.3% and 6.1% respectively year-on-year. Analysed by quarter, the overall residential property price index for the fourth quarter of 2024 fell by 2% from the third quarter.


Results of visitor expenditure survey for the whole year and the 4th quarter of 2024

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that total spending of visitors (excluding gaming expenses) increased by 5.8% year-on-year to MOP75.36 billion in 2024, attributable to a rise of 23.8% in the number of visitor arrivals. Total spending of overnight visitors (MOP62.31 billion) and same-day visitors (MOP13.05 billion) went up by 3.5% and 17.9% year-on-year respectively.


Mobile payment and payment card statistics – 4th Quarter 2024

According to statistics released today (7 February) by the Monetary Authority of Macao, in the fourth quarter of 2024, the number and the value of transactions of local mobile payment tools both witnessed growth on a quarterly basis. Meanwhile, the credit card and the debit card turnover both increased from the preceding quarter.


CE expresses support for Macao’s ice hockey team for the Asian Winter Games

The Chief Executive, Mr Sam Hou Fai, arrived in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, in the evening on Thursday (6 February), for a visit encompassing the 9th Asian Winter Games Harbin 2025. In Harbin, he met with the Macao, China sports delegation.


Tap Siac Craft Market in spring calls for stall operators and creative handicraft workshops

Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), the Tap Siac Craft Market in spring will be held from 24 to 27 April, 1 to 4 May at Tap Siac Square. The calls for stall operators and creative handicraft workshops are open from 5 to 26 February and from 5 to 19 February, respectively. Applications are free of charge.



2025 Sands China Macao International 10K to be held on 16 March

Organized by the Sports Bureau, Sands China Ltd. and the General Association of Athletics of Macau (AGAM), the 2025 Sands China Macao International 10K will be held on 16 March. The Organizing Committee held a press conference today (6 March) to announce the event details and registration arrangements. The press conference was attended by Mr. Luís Gomes, President of the Sports Bureau; Dr. Wilfred Wong, Executive Vice Chairman of Sands China Ltd.; Mr. Chan Pou Sin, President of AGAM; Ms. Lei Si Leng, Acting Vice President of the Sports Bureau; and members of the Sports Committee along with other guests.


Commissioner Against Corruption Ao Ieong Seong participates in the 14th General Meeting of the IAACA online

The Commissioner Against Corruption Ao Ieong Seong, the Deputy Commissioner cum Director of the Anti-Corruption Bureau Wong Kim Fong, as well as other CCAC staff, participated in the 14th General Meeting of the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities (IAACA) by videoconference this afternoon.
