Caravan roadshow series kicks off this Saturday to tour across Greater Bay Area

With the stable pandemic situation in Macao, Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) will unfold an array of caravan roadshows across the nine cities of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area under the theme “Experience Macao, Unlimited” from August to December. The first roadshow of the series will dazzle Zhuhai on 27 – 28 August to spark Greater Bay Area residents’ interest in visiting Macao for leisure and spending.


Subscription period for the Year of the Rabbit commemorative coins and Lunar Year Commemorative Coin Collector Box (2020-2031) ending next Friday

The online subscription period for the 2023 Year of the Rabbit commemorative coins and Lunar Year Commemorative Coin Collector Box (2020-2031) will end at 6:00pm on 2 September 2022 (next Friday). Hence, AMCM would like to remind Macao residents who are interested in subscribing for the said coins and collector box to complete the online subscription process (https://www.amcm.gov.mo/static/COCSCollection_2022/terms_pt.html ) before the mentioned deadline. A service counter has also been set up at the lobby of AMCM during the mentioned period to provide registration service for those who require assistance. Secretary: no significant problem identified in quarantine hotel’s infection-prevention procedures

The Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture, Ms Ao Ieong U, said it was still not possible to confirm the cause of infection of an employee working at a quarantine hotel, who recently tested ‘positive’ for COVID-19.



The United Nations Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities concluded the consideration of the report of the Macao SAR on the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities

From 17 to 19 August, the representatives of the Macao SAR Government, as members of the delegation of the Chinese Government, were subject to the consideration of the combined 2nd and 3rd reports on China’s implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (including the contents of the Macao SAR and Hong Kong SAR) by the United Nations Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities through online means.


IPIM Visits the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao

The Executive Director of the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) Vincent U and his delegation paid a visit to the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) and met with Secretary-General Ji Xianzheng and other members.



MGTO resumes promotions in the Mainland Widening source of visitors

Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) resumes its offline promotions due to the favorable measures on border crossing between Macao and the Mainland. In late August, the touring caravans named "Experience Macao, Unlimited" roadshow will officially launch, while in early September, the mega roadshow "ShandongQingdao Macao Week" will kick off and seize attention. In the meantime, MGTO makes good use of multi-channel promotions and plans to launch a lucky tourist promotional event, providing lucky tourists with a courtesy itinerary and producing a short video of their travel experience to promote Macao through the experience of real tourists.


Macao, China participated in the virtual annual plenary meeting of the Asia/Pacific Group on Money Laundering in 2022

As a member of the Asia/Pacific Group on Money Laundering (APG), the Financial Intelligence Office (GIF) coordinates the AML/CFT Working Group to participate in the Annual Plenary Meeting of APG as a delegation of Macao, China each year. For this year, the plenary meeting was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 24 to 28 July. Due to global COVID-19 pandemic and border control measures in different regions, APG organized, for the first time, its plenary meeting in a hybrid format (in face-to-face and virtual formats simultaneously). Macao, China joined this annual event in virtual format.
