Sports Bureau facilities to be reopened from 2 August

As the pandemic situation in Macao continues to stabilize, the Sports Bureau is reopening its sports facilities (except for D. Bosco College Sports Centre - Swimming Pool and Taipa Northeast Sports Centre) from 2 August (Tuesday) to allow the public to take part in sports activities.

NAT arrangements for various population groups to be adjusted from tomorrow; Daily rapid antigen testing ceases to be required

The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre announces that after risk analysis, starting tomorrow (2 August, Tuesday), the nucleic acid testing (NAT) arrangement for key groups and those who need to leave home for work will be adjusted as follows:


Operational arrangements for subsidized social service facilities from August 2 to 15

As Macao entersthe‘stabilization period’ of epidemic control on 2nd of August , the Social Welfare Bureau (IAS) announces that the operation of all subsidized social service facilities / programmes will resume in a progressive manner from August 2 onwards on the premise of protecting the health and safety of service users, especially children, the elderly, and people with disabilities. The specific arrangements are as follows:


CTT Will Resume Normal Operation from 2nd Aug

From 2nd Aug onwards, Macao Post & Telecommunications Bureau (CTT) will resume mail delivery services and reopen service points including: General Post Office, all branch post offices*, Macao Postal Savings (Caixa Económica Postal), philatelic shop, eSignTrust Registration Authority of Division of Electronic Certification Services, Area of Radio Licensing, Macao Network Information Centre (MONIC) and the Communications Museum.


The “Wui Ieng” Temporary Accomodation Center resumes its operation as of 3 August

The "Wui Ieng" Temporary Accomodation Center located at Rua Leste da Ilha Verde, n.º 34, Edifício do Bairro da Ilha Verde, E1 resumes its operation as of August 3 with a daily schedule from 6:00 pm to 8:00 am the following day. The remaining hours of the day are being reserved for thorough cleaning and disinfection of the Center.


MGTO unfolds “Bright up Macao 2022 — Call for public submissions of 3D mapping entries”

As Macao is about to enter the stability period from the consolidation period, Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) will vigorously steer various projects forward for tourism recovery after the pandemic subsides, including the event of “Bright up Macao 2022” coming up in December. Between 2 and 31 August, the Office welcomes the public to submit 3D mapping projects for Bright up Macao 2022, with the hope to bring into the limelight more local artworks and promote the concerted development of “tourism + culture and creativity”.


80,864 samples collected as of 15:00 today among key groups and those leaving home for work; 29,452 returned as negative

The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre announces that with regard to the NAT drive for key groups and those who need to leave home for work, a total of 80,864 samples have been collected as of 15:00 today (1 August); among them, 29,452 samples have been analysed, and their results are negative.


UM’s 36th Portuguese Language Summer Course ends

The 36th Portuguese Language Summer Course, organised by the Department of Portuguese of the University of Macau (UM) Faculty of Arts and Humanities, has ended with success. In line with the SAR government’s efforts to prevent and control the epidemic, this year’s summer course was held online and attracted 152 students from Japan, mainland China, Hong Kong and Macao, with more than 50 per cent of the participants attending language courses at intermediate and advanced levels.


Tutoring centres and education centres can gradually resume operations from August 2. The DSEDJ reminds them to strictly follow the guidelines on health and epidemic prevention

In accordance with the Chief Executive's Dispatch No. 139/2022 published in the Official Gazette of the Macao Special Administrative Region, and the technical guidelines on “Measures to Reduce the Risk of Transmission of COVID-19 in the Workplace during the Stable Period of Epidemic Prevention and Control in Macao” issued by the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention of the Health Bureau on August 1:(https://www.ssm.gov.mo/docs2/file/pv/Uchp5zh8Il8VdbnOJLVgw/ch), under the conditions of strictly following the relevant guidelines on epidemic prevention measures, starting from August 2, private supplementary education support centres and private education institutions (continuing education) (commonly known as "tutoring centres and education centres) can gradually resume operations.
