The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre indicates that, due to the impact of typhoon, flooding may occur in low-lying regions; for this reason, services of the mobile NAT bus parking at The Riviera Macau terminal on Rua do Almirante Sérgio will suspend from 5:00 pm today (1 July).

Subsistence Team continues to support buildings listed as Red Code Zones

While Tropical Cyclone Signal No.3 is being hoisted in Macao, the Subsistence Team continues to carry out screenings and distribute subsistence supplies for the buildings listed as Red Code Zones. Today (1 July), surveys on households were carried out for four buildings newly listed as Red Code Zones, namely Edf. Hong Tai, Nam Wa San Chun (Block 5), Edf. Tim Fok and Edf. Lai Heng. In addition, to meet the basic dietary needs of the residents, vegetables and frozen meat food packs or emergency food packs for four days were distributed to the households of these buildings as food reserves as door-to-door delivery of vegetables and frozen meat food packs or boxed meals is suspended during the typhoon. Boxed meals were also provided for people with special needs.


UM, Tsinghua and UESTC host the Workshop on IC Advances in China

The University of Macau (UM), Tsinghua University and the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) have hosted the 4th Workshop on IC Advances in China (ICAC 2022) online. 49 experts of integrated circuit (IC) design gave presentations during the workshop, which attracted more than 3,900 registered audience members. About 60% of the registered audience members are academics, with the rest coming from the industry.


IAM sends more staff to clear drains in response to unstable weather

In response to the unstable weather in Macao caused by the tropical cyclone “Chaba”, the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) has strengthened the checking and clearance work of the drains to ensure they are not blocked. Meanwhile, IAM urges the public or businesses not to dispose of materials such as garbage, grease, etc. in public streets and dump them into public drains in the streets, so as to avoid hindering the normal operation of the rainwater catch pits. Persons in charge of construction sites also have to monitor and manage the waste disposal of the construction sites, and they should not drain cement slurry into the pubic drainage network and let the construction materials affect the operation of the catch pits, so as to avoid causing blockage of the drains and a risk of flooding.


NAT services will be suspended when typhoon signal no. 8 or above is hoisted; Health code of affected yellow code holders will not turn red

The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre announces that when typhoon signal no. 8 or above is issued, services of the general viral nucleic acid testing stations at Pac On Ferry Terminal, Macao Forum, Kiang Wu Hospital, the University Hospital, Macao Federation of Trade Unions Workers Stadium, Qingmao Port and Hengqin Port will be suspended, until 2 hours after typhoon signal no. 8 is cancelled.


MUR enforces stringent supervision on contractors, strives to eliminate potential safety hazards

Regarding the tilting incident of rebars that happened on site Lot B for the temporary housing project located on Lot P in Areia Preta on 25 June, the contractor has immediately reported to relevant entities. During the suspension of works in the relevant area, Macau Urban Renewal Limited (MUR) and third-party supervisors immediately conducted a thorough investigation to determine the cause of the incident.


Subsistence Team suspends supplies delivery service today for buildings listed as Red Code Zones

As the tropical cyclone signal no. 3 is being hoisted in Macao, the Subsistence Team suspends today (1 July) the service of receiving daily supplies from relatives and friends for the households of the buildings listed as Red Code Zones. If the households have urgent needs, they are advised to call IAM’s hotline at 28337676 or the Social Welfare Bureau’s support hotline at 28261126, following which the Subsistence Team will handle the requests as soon as possible.
