Response and Coordination Centre calls on employers to allow their workers to take the citywide NAT during working hours
The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre announces that, in response to the epidemic development in Macao, a citywide nucleic acid testing scheme will be launched at 07:00 tomorrow (1 November), until 11:00 on 2 November. To cooperate with this citywide NAT, employers are urged to allow their workers to go to the NAT stations for sampling during working hours. Besides, some general NAT stations will extend their opening hours tonight (31 October) until 01:00 on the following day.

From 00:00 to 15:00 today (31 October), a total of 62,659 samples have been collected from the lockdown zones and key areas, etc., of which 13,905 have been tested with negative result
According to the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre, from 00:00 to 15:00 today (31 October), 353 samples have been collected from the red-coded zones, 45,772 from the key areas, 1,519 from the isolated persons in MGM Cotai, and 15,015 from the regular testing drive (i.e. a total of 62,659 samples have been collected). Among them, 13,905 samples have been tested, all returned as negative. Apart from this, 479,569 rapid antigen test results have been uploaded.

Central authorities resume acceptance of smart-travel permit applications for visits to Macao
To enhance convenience for mainland China residents applying for travel permits to visit Macao, the Bureau of Exit and Entry Administration of the Ministry of Public Security of the People’s Republic of China will from 1 November 2022 commence operating the smart-travel permit application system at exit and entry administration counters throughout the country. The counters will accept and process applications for visits to Macao. On behalf of the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) Government, the Chief Executive, Mr Ho Iat Seng, has expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Central Government and relevant ministries and departments, for their full support on the matter.

Transport and communications statistics for September 2022
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that licensed motor vehicles in Macao totalled 248,374 as at end-September 2022, up by 1.0% year-on-year; light automobiles (113,737) and heavy motorcycles (107,328) rose by 1.1% and 2.4% respectively. New registration of motor vehicles in September grew by 63.4% year-on-year to 1,188 (including 383 electric vehicles), with that of light automobiles surging by 119.0% to 541 (284 of them were electric). In the first three quarters of 2022, new registration of motor vehicles fell by 20.1% year-on-year to 7,423. Number of traffic accidents in September dropped by 18.1% year-on-year to 987, with 344 persons injured. In the first three quarters of 2022, there were 8,207 traffic accidents, which resulted in 5 deaths and 2,908 injuries.
