IAM continues to adopt crowd control measures at markets and calls on public to do their shopping during off-peak hours
The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) has continuously evaluated the actual situation at the markets and adopted crowd control measures. IAM adopted distribution of number tags during the peak of people flow this morning (21 July) at Patane Market. The public complied with the arrangement and the overall operation was smooth and in good order. IAM calls on consumers to go to markets and hawker areas during off-peak hours as much as possible, especially when they go to locations with high people flow such as Patane and Hawker Area at Rua da Emenda.

Business climate survey on restaurants & similar establishments and retail trade for May 2022
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that receipts of the interviewed restaurants & similar establishments dropped by 22.2% year-on-year in May 2022, with Chinese Restaurants and Western Restaurants recording respective decreases of 30.6% and 28.6%. Meanwhile, sales of the interviewed retailers fell by 42.2% year-on-year in May; Department Stores (-57.4%), Adults' Clothing Retailers (-54.6%) and Watches, Clocks & Jewellery Retailers (-54.0%) posted a significant decline in sales, while Supermarkets (+9.8%) registered an increase.

Supplies delivery service for Edf. Kinglight Garden (Kam Yuen) suspended today to facilitate nucleic acid tests for households
The Subsistence Team carried out screening and delivery of food packs and other supplies for the households in Edf. Kinglight Garden (Kam Yuen), a newly added Red Code Zone, this morning (21 July). As the Health Bureau has arranged for the households to undergo nucleic acid sampling in the afternoon, the service of delivering supplies from relatives and friends for the households in Edf. Kinglight Garden (Kam Yuen) originally scheduled for 3 pm to 5 pm is suspended. Relevant households are advised to understand the measure and ask their relatives and friends not to send supplies to the site today.

According to update from the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre, new positive cases within 24 hours yesterday (20 July) include: 11 cases in the Red Code zones and medical observation hotels, which were detected under the management and control; 0 cases of close contacts, 1 case in the Citywide NAT and Key Groups NAT, and 0 case among other population groups, which were found within the community.
