Guangdong & Macao Branded Products Fair kicks off in mid-November, boosting sales and exploring business opportunities

The “2022 Guangdong & Macao Branded Products Fair” (2022GMBPF) will be held at Cotai Expo Hall D, The Venetian Macao, from 11 to 13 November. This year’s GMBPF will again feature an integration of trade, forum, culture, shopping, leisure and entertainment. Over 60% of the enterprises are joining the Fair for the second year in a row, recognising that the Fair enables them to increase sales, explore more business opportunities and facilitate business transformation.


Company statistics for the 3rd quarter of 2022

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that a total of 972 new companies were incorporated in the third quarter of 2022, a decrease of 422 year-on-year. Number of new companies operating in Wholesale & Retail Trade (434) and Business Services (243) went down by 67 and 132 respectively. Meanwhile, total value of registered capital of the new companies surged by 139.8% year-on-year to MOP887 million, attributable to the incorporation of new companies with relatively large capital in Financial Activities and Business Services during the quarter. Companies in dissolution totalled 139 in the third quarter, and the value of registered capital of these companies amounted to MOP333 million.


Review of Culture International Edition Issue No. 69 Urban Landscape Transformation of Macao in the 19th Century

The issue 69 of the Review of Culture takes up the theme of architecture with a thesis that discusses the planned transformation and expansion of the Macao urban landscape from the mid-19th century to the early 20th century, in addition to another essay on Macao’s influence on East Asian military action and architecture. In the Religion column, different positions and social work of the Catholic Church in Macao in the 1960s and 1970s are explored.

The event included theme forums, discussion sessions and on-site matching sessions. Over 100 government and business representatives from the Mainland and Macao.

Payment Card and Mobile Payment Statistics – 3rd Quarter 2022

According to statistics released today by the Monetary Authority of Macao, the total numbers of personal credit cards and debit cards issued by banks in Macao witnessed annual increases in the third quarter of 2022. The credit card and debit card turnover both decreased. On the other hand, the number and the value of transactions of local mobile payment tools both increased from a year ago.


Reopening of some Sports Bureau facilities

Starting from 7 November 2022 (Monday), Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion, Mong-Ha Sports Centre and Olympic Sports Centre – Stadium of the Sports Bureau will be reopened and online booking service will be resumed for residents to continue sports exercise.
