Tap Seac Gallery showcases colourful folk culture in the “Exhibition of Shadow Play and Puppetry of Shaanxi and Sichuan Provinces”

“Reflective Glow — Art Exhibition of Shadow Play and Puppetry of Shaanxi and Sichuan Provinces”, organised by the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from its Portuguese acronym) of the Macao SAR Government, Department of Culture and Tourism of Shaanxi Province, and Department of Culture and Tourism of Sichuan Province, co-organised by the Department of Publicity and Culture of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR and coordinated by the Centre for Ethnic and Folk Literature and Art Development of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, is open at the Tap Seac Gallery until 6 February 2023. Admission is free and all are welcome to visit.



Cultural Affairs Bureau carries out restoration works on the west wall of Mount Fortress Sections of the pavement will be temporarily closed

The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) is carrying out restoration works on the west wall of Mount Fortress. In order to meet the needs of the works, sections of the pavement will be temporarily closed for the installation of scaffolding between 14 December (Wednesday) and 17 December (Saturday). During the aforementioned period, the respective area will be closed to the public. The Cultural Affairs Bureau will place instruction signs on-site.


Online virtual reality (VR) tours service introduced for five World Heritage sites allowing the public to visit the Macao World Heritage through innovative technologies

The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) has been actively promoting the digitalised display of cultural heritage and enriching the online tourism resources in Macao. Last year, IC presented the pilot project for online virtual tours of the “Guia Fortress” and the “Mandarin’s House”, which was well received by residents and tourists. This year, it has introduced online virtual reality tours for five more heritage sites, including the Ruins of the Church of Mater Dei (commonly known as the Ruins of St. Paul’s), the Old City Walls (Section at Calçada de S. Francisco Xavier), the Lou Kau Mansion, the Na Tcha Temple (next to the Ruins of St Paul’s), and IC’s Na Tcha Exhibition Room.

The CCAC completed the detection of a case involving electoral bribery in relation to the 7th Legislative Assembly Elections. The involved trustee of a nomination committee allegedly provided a free tour, catering and gifts to more than 200 Macao citizens in order to collect enough voters’ signatures for submission of the application forms of confirmed nomination for his group to the Legislative Assembly Elections Affairs Management Committee.


Mortgage loans statistics – October 2022

According to statistics released today by the Monetary Authority of Macao, new approvals of residential mortgage loans (RMLs) decreased while those of commercial real estate loans (CRELs) increased in October 2022. With regard to the outstanding balances, RMLs dropped whereas CRELs witnessed an increase.


Shuttle buses, with 8 pick-up points, will be arranged by the Response and Coordination Centre for individuals infected with COVID-19 to go to the Community Treatment Centre (Macao East Asian Games Dome)

The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre states that shuttle buses, with 8 pick-up points, will be arranged in the next two days (12 - 13 December), so as to facilitate individuals infected with COVID-19 to go to the Community Treatment Centre (Macao East Asian Games Dome) for medical consultation. Target passengers are individuals who have a positive result for single-tube nucleic acid test/ rapid self-antigen test and who do not have the conditions to go to the Community Treatment Centre (Macao East Asian Games Dome) on their own. Shuttle buses with more pick-up points will be arranged from Wednesday (14 December) onwards for individuals infected with COVID-19 to go to the community outpatient clinics to seek medical consultation.


“2022 Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition” Comes to Successful Conclusion

The “2022 Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition” (2022MIECF), hosted by the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region, successfully concluded today (11 December). Five themed business matching sessions have been held in the Green Matching Area, including over 250 online and on-site matchings and meetings. During the three-day event, a total of 25 project protocols have been signed.
