The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre announces the following:


The DSEDJ calls on the funded institutions to cooperate in epidemic prevention work and suspend group activities

In response to the development of the novel coronavirus epidemic and in order to cooperate with the SAR government on epidemic prevention work, the Education and Youth Development Bureau (DSEDJ) calls on all institutions subsidised by the DSEDJ or Education Fund to strictly adhere to the epidemic prevention guidelines issued by the health department. Such institutions shall suspend or postpone all funded activities from today until further notice, such as courses, training, lectures, seminars, performances, recreational activities that may lead to a large gathering of people.


Visitor arrivals for May 2022

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that visitor arrivals totalled 600,748 in May 2022, a decline of 30.6% year-on-year and a drop of 1.0% month-on-month. Numbers of same-day visitors (358,920) and overnight visitors (241,828) decreased by 8.5% and 49.0% year-on-year respectively. The average length of stay of visitors shortened by 0.7 day year-on-year to 0.9 day; the duration for overnight visitors (2.1 days) went down by 0.8 day, whereas that for same-day visitors (0.1 day) remained unchanged.

IAM cancels this month’s Open Session to the Public to facilitate pandemic prevention work

To facilitate the prevention and control work of the novel coronavirus, the Open Session to the Public of the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) originally scheduled for 10 am to 11 am on 24 June (Friday) at the IAM Building is cancelled. IAM appreciates the public’s understanding.


Slaughterhouse launches pandemic prevention plan to increase supply of fresh meat

In response to the development of the pandemic and to stabilise the supply and price of fresh meat, the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) and the Macau Slaughter House Ltd. launched the pandemic prevention plan today (20 June). The slaughterhouse staff work in two groups on alternate shifts to avoid the quarantine isolation of all staff owing to confirmed cases of certain staff and halting the operations of the slaughterhouse.


NAT stations detecting positive samples and respective sampling time announced

The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre states that as of 11:00 on 20 June, the present citywide nucleic acid testing programme has detected six preliminary positive cases in the 10-in-1 mixed samples, and re-testing is being carried out on single-sample basis.

The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre (hereinafter referred to as “the Centre”) states that the present citywide nucleic acid testing programme has detected six preliminary positive cases in the 10-in-1 mixed samples, and re-testing is being carried out; the sampling stations and time of the concerned samples will be announced later.
