IAM launches restoration works of stone fence in Long Chao Kok Coastal Trail in Coloane

Multiple parts of the stone fence in Long Chao Kok Coastal Trail in Coloane have been damaged, and the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) has launched the restoration works recently. The public are reminded that about 800 metres of the trail has been temporarily closed to the public, but the rest of the trail remains open.


GIF Organized Online AML/CFT Seminars for the Financial Sector in Macao

The Financial Intelligence Office (GIF) organized two thematic seminars on 8th November 2022, which were “Anti-Money Laundering and Combating the Financing of Terrorism” (AML/CFT) and “Law on Asset Freezing Regime” respectively for the financial sector in Macao, with the aim to deepen the understanding of the financial practitioners in related fields. This enables them not only to comprehend the precautions and identify suspicious transactions of money laundering or terrorist financing when dealing with financial activities, but also to effectively implement the procedures for freezing assets, so as to meet the requirements of relevant laws and regulations.

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China and the Secretariat for Social Affairs and Culture of Macao SAR, present the China National Peking Opera Company in two shows to be staged at Macao Cultural Centre’s Grand Auditorium on December 16 and 17 (Friday and Saturday), at 19:30.


Mortgage loans statistics – September 2022

According to statistics released today by the Monetary Authority of Macao, new approvals of residential mortgage loans (RMLs) increased while those of commercial real estate loans (CRELs) decreased in September 2022. With regard to the outstanding balances, RMLs dropped whereas CRELs remained virtually unchanged.

The Tourism Development Committee (CDT, on its Portuguese acronym) convened the second Plenary Meeting of 2022 today (8 November), presided over by Secretary for Economy and Finance and Committee Chairperson, Lei Wai Nong. Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) presented an overview of Macao’s latest tourism situation, unveiled its work plan for 2023 and listened to CDT members’ opinions on Macao’s tourism development and the scheme for tourism economic recovery.

Results of property management, security, cleaning, advertising and conference & exhibition organising services survey 2021

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that a total of 590 establishments were engaged in Cleaning (303 establishments, up by 17 year-on-year), Security (61 establishments, up by 1) and Property Management Services (226 establishments, down by 10) in 2021. Total number of persons engaged rose by 590 year-on-year to 29,019.
