UM, UN commission hold conference to discuss legal harmonisation and challenges facing international trade in post-pandemic era

The University of Macau (UM) and the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law Regional Centre for Asia and the Pacific (UNCITRAL-RCAP) today (2 December) held a conference titled ‘The Renewed Role of Legal Harmonisation in the Post-Pandemic Recovery of International Trade and Commerce’ to discuss the challenges facing international trade in the post-pandemic era and assess the relevance of legal harmonisation.


IFTM iRetail Lab hosts its first live streaming session to enhance the combination of Production-Learning-Research

The Macao Institute for Tourism Studies (IFTM) collaborated with Village Macau in hosting its first iRetail Lab Live Stream Session on 29 November via AOMI Live Commerce platform, where students featured local brands of Macao during the live show. The activity is part of the Tourism Retail and Marketing Management Degree programme arrangement, supported by Village Macau, a Macao based entertainment company that has established live stream studio in Macao, Hengqin, Zhuhai and Hangzhou, specialising in live streaming commerce, entertainment, micro video and blogger training.


2022 Trip.com Group Global Partner Summit unveiled today Manifesting Macao’s strength in “tourism + MICE” for two consecutive years

The international one-stop tourism service platform — Trip. com Group unveiled its 2022 Global Partner Summit in Macao today (2 December), joined by over 1,000 participants from different countries and regions. As a special supporting organization of the Summit for two consecutive years, Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) hopes to leverage this influential large-scale conference to promote the city’s diverse tourism resources and strengths as a MICE destination among Mainland and overseas industry professionals.


UM study becomes first from Macao to be listed by National Key R&D Program

The Ministry of Science and Technology of China recently announced a list of projects under the category of ‘Stem Cell Research and Organ Repair’ to be funded by the National Key R&D Program. A project submitted by Xu Renhe, associate dean (research) and Distinguished Professor of the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS), University of Macau (UM), is among the projects on the list and will receive a grant of RMB 30 million. It is the first project from Macao and the first project led by UM that has been listed by the National Key R&D Program.


Light up Macao 2022 is rescheduled to start at a later date

Owing to activity arrangements, “Light up Macao 2022”, organized by Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), is rescheduled to begin on 9 December. More details will be announced at a later time.
