Macao team was crowned the champion of the “Coding4Integrity Asian Youth Anti-Corruption Hackathon”

The team representing Macao, made up of local young people Sam Ka Lok, Loi Nga Hei and Cai Pei Jun, went to Hong Kong to participate in the Grande Finale of the “Coding4Integrity Asian Youth Anti-Corruption Hackathon” co-hosted by the Independent Commission Against Corruption of Hong Kong, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities (IAACA) With the prototype of an AI-powered public procurement analysis platform for corruption prevention designed by them, the team stood out from all the competing teams from 14 countries and regions and won the gold award and a few more awards in the International Contest of the Hackathon. The CCAC stated that it will continue to actively tie in with the country and Macao SAR’s policy direction of attaching importance to the development of young people and encourage them to participate in integrity building of the country and Macao with innovative thinking so that Macao young people will show their talent at the international stage.


Government fully mobilised for Super Typhoon Ragasa, calling for community unity on disaster preparedness

The Chief Executive, Mr Sam Hou Fai, has today ordered full mobilisation of governmental resources – complemented by community effort – to counter possible adverse conditions linked to the approach of Super Typhoon Ragasa.


DSEDJ announces that classes at all education levels will be suspended for the whole day tomorrow and the following day (23 and 24 September)

Due to the impact of Super Typhoon Ragasa, the Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (SMG) predicts that Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 3 will be issued between midnight and early morning tomorrow (23 September), and the Orange Storm Surge Warning or higher will be issued during the daytime tomorrow (23 September). After consultation with the SMG, the Education and Youth Development Bureau (DSEDJ) announces that classes of secondary, primary, infant and special education will be suspended all day tomorrow (23 September) and the following day (24 September), in order to ensure the safety of students and prevent them from travelling during adverse weather conditions. Higher education institutions are advised to follow the arrangement and implement full-day class suspensions.

The Typhoon Ragasa Approaches: The “Global Legal & Sustainable Timber Forum 2025” has been Cancelled

To address the impact of the approaching Typhoon Ragasa, the “Global Legal & Sustainable Timber Forum 2025(GLSTF2025)”, originally scheduled for 23–24 September at MGM Cotai, Macao, has been cancelled.


Sections of parks temporarily closed to facilitate works for Macau Grand Prix

To facilitate the construction of stands for the 72nd Macau Grand Prix, the Municipal Affairs Bureau will temporarily close the section of Arts Park between Praça de Ferreira do AmaralandRua de Cantãofrom 25 September and the section of Reservatório Park near the Macau Grand Prix Building inAvenida da Amizade from 3 October respectively. In addition, the sections of Arts Park, D. Maria II Hill Park and D. Maria II Viewing Platform that are next to the race circuit will be closed during the event to be held from 13 to 16 November. The public are advised to pay attention to the construction instructions on site and the relevant arrangements.


IPIM Promotes the First Store Economy Programme and Other Business Opportunities in Portugal

In order to further implement the investment promotion and leverage the synergies of “MICE + Tourism”, the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (“IPIM”) of the Macao Special Administrative Region established a booth at the “Experience Macao Roadshow in Lisbon”, hosted by the Macao SAR Government Tourism Office at the Praça do Comércio, Lisbon, Portugal. This marks the inaugural investment promotion event aimed at promoting Macao’s strengths as a China-PSCs platform, highlighting the “Macao + Hengqin” strategic positioning and the business environment in Macao and Hengqin, as well as the newly launched “Programme for Supporting the Development of Macao First Store Economy”. These efforts are geared towards attracting Portuguese and other international brands and investors to expand businesses in these two regions.
