Art Macao: Macao International Art Biennale 2023 Open call for exhibition proposals of local curatorial projects
The “Art Macao: Macao International Art Biennale 2023” (hereinafter referred to as “Art Macao 2023”) will be held this year. The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) calls for exhibition proposals of the “Art Macao 2023” Local Curatorial Project from today until 24 May. All individuals and associations engaged in contemporary art are welcome to participate.

Consumer price index (CPI) for March 2023
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the Composite CPI for March 2023 (104.28) grew by 0.86% year-on-year. The increment was attributed to higher charges for eating out, rising wages of domestic helpers, increased tuition fees, as well as dearer fruit prices and hotel room rates; yet, the rise was partially offset by lower rentals for dwellings and reduced airfares. Among the various sections of goods and services, price indices of Education and Household Furnishings & Services rose by 9.99% and 6.33% year-on-year respectively, whereas the indices of Housing & Fuels and Communication dropped by 1.69% and 1.53% respectively. The CPI-A (103.81) and CPI-B (104.89) saw respective growth of 0.62% and 1.18% year-on-year.

IPIM Launches Online Training to Help the Industry Keep up with New Trends of Asia-Pacific MICE Sector
As the pandemic prevention measures relieved and normal border crossing resumed, the number of MICE events have increased significantly. In order to continuously facilitate the specialisation and internationalisation of the MICE industry, as well as the cultivation of professionals and practitioners in the MICE sector, the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) launched the first online MICE training session of this year yesterday (20 April), under the theme “New Trends of the Asia-Pacific MICE Industry”, and invited industry experts and representatives to share their viewpoints, enabling local practitioners to update their knowledge and strengthen their competitiveness, so as to attract more professional MICE events to be held in Macao.

53% of Employers Not Yet Paid Contributions, FSS Calls on the Use of “Macao One Account” for Making the Payment
As of 20 April, about 14,000 employers have not yet paid Social Security System’s obligatory system contributions for their employees for the first quarter of 2023, accounting for about xx% of the total number of employers who need to pay contributions. As the payment deadline is approaching, the flow of people at service points is increasing. The Social Security Fund (abbreviated to FSS in Macao) calls on employers and residents to make more use of the “Macao One Account” mobile app or website to make the payments, so as to avoid waiting in line and not be restricted by office hours.
