UNWTO and GTEF sign MOU for elevated collaboration in Portugal

The Global Tourism Economy Forum (GTEF, or the “Forum”) and World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) co-held a press conference in Lisbon, Portugal on 21 April, signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on their elevated partnership. The signing of the MOU deepens collaboration between both parties, which is anticipated to unveil new chapters of global cooperation in tourism, economy, culture and other fields in the post-pandemic era.





Exhibition of Macao landscape watercolours from the Macao Museum of Art Collection opens in Lisbon to showcase local cultural landscapes and street sceneries

Jointly organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government and the Macau Scientific and Cultural Centre of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education of Portugal, the exhibition “Journeys of Light: Macao Landscape Watercolours from the Macao Museum of Art Collection” was inaugurated in Lisbon, Portugal on 20 April. The exhibition features a total of 50 landscape watercolours by 17 Macao artists from the collection of Macao Museum of Art, presenting the development of local watercolours since 1970s from different perspectives and the city’s ever-changing urban landscapes and residents’ lives.


CE calls on Macao entrepreneurs to make good use of visit to Portugal

The Chief Executive, Mr Ho Iat Seng, called for entrepreneurs in the Macao delegation visiting Portugal to make good use of the trip in terms of seeking business opportunities, and to promote the opportunities available in Macao and in the Guangdong-Macao Intensive Cooperation Zone.

As a highlight of the SAR government’s visit to Portugal, the trade and tourism promotion event “Macao-Portugal Investment and Tourism Promotion Conference” was held on April 19, local time in Portugal. Attendees included Chief Executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region Ho Iat Seng, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Portuguese Republic Zhao Bentang, Secretary for Economy and Finance of the Macao Special Administrative Region Government Lei Wai Nong, Secretary for Transport and Public Works Raimundo Arrais do Rosário, Deputy Directors of the Executive Committee of the Guangdong-Macao In-depth Co-operation Zone in Hengqin Nie Xinping and Su Kun, Director of the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, and President of the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) Vincent U.


Use of footbridge between Reservatório Park and Avenida da Ponte da Amizade temporarily suspended to facilitate construction works of flyover of Direcção dos Serviços de Obras Públicas

To facilitate the construction works of a flyover of Direcção dos Serviços de Obras Públicas, the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) will temporarily close the footbridge for passage between Reservatório Park and Avenida da Ponte da Amizade from 28 April 2023. The public are advised to pay attention to the arrangement and use alternative road crossing facilities to reach Reservatório Park.


Intermittent interruption of some IAM electronic services due to network system maintenance

The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) will carry out maintenance of the network system from 9:00 p.m. to midnight on 21 April 2023 and from 9:00 p.m. to midnight on 28 April 2023. During the periods, some of the electronic services will be interrupted intermittently. The public are advised to pay attention to the arrangement.
