Art Macao 2021 establishes an international brand of cultural tourism Permanent display of mega mural Learning from Macao promotes an artistic atmosphere in Macao

The mega cultural and artistic event “Art Macao: Macao International Art Biennale 2021” was launched in July. With a chief curator mapping out this year’s Biennale for the first time, the event is divided into several sections, including the Main Exhibition, the Special Exhibition of Resorts and Hotels, the Public Art Exhibition, the Creative City Pavilion, the Selected Works by Local Artists and Collateral Exhibition, among others, fully utilizing the urban characteristics of Macao’s integration of Chinese and western cultures and its geographical advantages, bringing an immersive cultural atmosphere to the entire city as a gallery and an art garden, and establishing a signature brand of cultural tourism at an international level. “Art Macao 2021” features a total of 30 art exhibitions in 25 locations, as well as approximate 800 sessions of outreach activities. It drew over 450 artists/art institutions from 36 countries and regions and attracted over 3.2 million spectators despite the pandemic.


Mong-Ha Sports Centre Opening in Stages for Public Use on 2nd December

Mong-Ha Sports Centre operated by the Sports Bureau is opening to the public in phases on 2nd December (Thursday). Among the first batch of facilities to launch are badminton courts and table tennis rooms on the 2nd floor, basketball courts on the 4th floor, and rooftop leisure area with jogging trail. Online booking can be made 7 days in advance for these facilities starting from 5:00pm on 1st December through the Bureau’s official website while booking can be made 7 days in advance on 2nd December through mobile app. On-the-spot booking for instant use is also available at the Mong-Ha service counter on 2nd December.


Old Model of International Reply Coupon withdrawn from Sales and Exchange

According to the notification from Universal Postal Union, with effect from 1st January 2022, the international reply coupons issued on 1st September 2017 will be withdrawn from sales and exchange.


Macao Week in Chongqing will grandly open this Friday Wide promotional campaign attracts visitors to Macao via multiple channels

The “Macao Week in Chongqing” roadshow will liven up the Jiefangbei Square at Yuzhong District in Chongqing from 2 to 6 December. An opening ceremony will lift curtains upon this mega promotional event officially on Friday (3 December). A wide variety of captivating promotions are progressively rolled out in Chongqing to attract residents to the roadshow for a firsthand experience of Macao’s “tourism +” and entice Mainland visitors to Macao for travel and spending to foster tourism and economic revival in Macao.



The 26th MIF, 2021MFE and 2021PLPEX to be held in December Exploring business opportunities online and offline

The 26th Macao International Trade and Investment Fair (26th MIF), the Macao Franchise Expo 2021 (2021MFE) and the 2021 Portuguese Speaking Countries Products and Services Exhibition (Macao) (2021PLPEX) will be held concurrently at The Venetian Macao from 10 to 12 December. Adhering to the mode of “three exhibitions in synergy with the integration of online and offline elements”, the three exhibitions assist traders from all over the world in exploring and expanding business opportunities, thus creating win-win results through both the online and offline platforms of the three exhibitions.


Arrangement of Outdoor Swimming Pools under Sports Bureau

Several outdoor public swimming pools under Sports Bureau (ID) such as Dr. Sun Yat Sen, Taipa Central Park, Cheoc Van and Hac Sa Park was closed on 31 October when the “bathing season” was over; Estoril, also known as San Fa Yuen, is closing on 30 November. During the off-season closure, ID will implement facilities and equipments maintenance at these outdoor swimming pools to enhance swimming environment for the public.


UM student wins championship in 19th Portuguese Speech Contest

The Department of Portuguese under the University of Macau (UM) Faculty of Arts and Humanities (FAH) today (30 November 2021) held the 19th Portuguese Speech Contest. The event aimed to promote Portuguese language studies, increase students’ interest in learning Portuguese, and reward the best-performing students. UM student Che Chong Hei won the championship in this event.


IPIM Helps Introduce MICE Events to Macao to Promote Moderate Economic Diversification

The Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) has been continuously promoting the development of the MICE industry in Macao, and followed up on a total of 167 MICE events through the “One-stop Service” for MICE Bidding and Support in Macao from January to October in 2021, which cover industries such as commerce and trade, healthcare, and information and technology. The person-in-charge of a large technology expo scheduled in early December in Macao remarked that the designated IPIM personnel arranged through the “One-stop Service” for MICE Bidding and Support in Macao had effectively followed up and assisted in solving many issues that arose during the preparation, thus facilitating the smooth execution of the event.
