2021MIECF Green Business Co-operation Day Concentrating Efforts on Green Technological Innovation, Mainstreaming Green Manufacturing and Lifestyles

The 2021 Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition (2021MIECF) will be held from 5 to 7 August. On the first day of the 2021MIECF, a series of activities will be staged on the the Green Business Co-operation Day, during which international organisations, leading experts and scholars from Mainland China, and senior officers of famous listed companies will be invited to share and exchange their ideas on “Accelerating Commercialisation of Technological Innovation, Mainstreaming Green Manufacturing and Lifestyles”.

Wong Ieng Kuan Library in Luís de Camões Garden will reopen from 23 August

Due to the impact of the novel coronavirus pandemic, the Wong Ieng Kuan Library in Luís de Camões Garden under the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) was temporarily closed since 3 August. After thorough cleaning and disinfection and consultation with the Health Bureau, the library will reopen to the public from 23 August, with opening hours from 2pm to 8pm on Mondays, and from 8am to 8pm from Tuesdays to Sundays.

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the Composite CPI for July 2021 (102.53) rose by 0.38% year-on-year, the first year-on-year growth since August 2020.

Cultural Affairs Bureau cancels arts and cultural performances due to epidemic prevention and control

In line with the SAR Government’s epidemic prevention and control measures, and in accordance with the “Guidelines on Conducting Visits Abroad and Crowd Gathering Activities” issued by the Department of Health on 10 August 2021, the Cultural Affairs Bureau will cancel a number of arts and cultural performances and arrange for ticket’s refund from now until 30 September; spectators with tickets may contact the Macau Ticketing Network for refund anytime.


MPI’s Proceedings of the Twelfth Higher Education International Conference Has Been Published

The “Proceedings of the Twelfth Higher Education International Conference on Teaching and Learning Quality Assurance in Higher Education under the Pandemic” of Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI) has now been published. The proceedings are a collection of selected papers from the online conference of the same name co-organised by MPI and the Asia-Pacific Quality Network (APQN) in November 2020. The sudden COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 has brought great challenges to the higher education sector, and this conference was held in order to build an exchange platform for education coping with the global pandemic, and the opportunities and challenges of online education. The conference has received positive feedback from educators and scholars from around world. The publication of the proceedings provides an important reference value for the academic community to understand the teaching and learning quality assurance measures and practices of higher education institutions around the world in response to the pandemic.

The Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) released survey results of Manpower Needs and Wages of the Gaming Sector for the second quarter of 2021. Survey coverage excludes junket promoters and junket associates.


Population Census Extended to 28 August Field Visits to Resume on 23 August (Monday)

To ensure the completion of the Population Census, the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) extended the data collection period by 7 days to 28 August after consultation with the Health Bureau and with the implementation of pandemic prevention measures. Field visits by Census officers will resume on 23 August (Monday) and 800 Census officers will be arranged to collect data from households who have not responded to the Census.
