Results of industrial survey 2020
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that a total of 884 establishments engaged in industrial related activities (covering Manufacturing and Electricity, Gas & Water Supply) were operating in Macao in 2020, representing a decrease of 16 year-on-year. Total number of persons engaged dropped by 1,080 to 11,473. Receipts and Expenditure of these establishments amounted to MOP9.39 billion and MOP7.05 billion respectively in 2020, down by 19.7% and 18.4% year-on-year. Gross Surplus fell by 23.3% year-on-year to MOP2.34 billion, while Gross Value Added that measures the sectoral contribution to the economy went down by 13.5% to MOP4.68 billion. Besides, Gross Fixed Capital Formation declined by 34.3% to MOP1.14 billion.

Macao SAR Government conducts outreach NAT service for the persons with reduced mobility
In order to support the citywide nucleic acid test (NAT) plan for the entire population, especially for persons with reduced mobility in the residential facilities and the communities, the Social Welfare Bureau has coordinated with the Health Bureau to organize “Macao SAR Government Outreach NAT Service Team”, which has launched outreach NAT service since 27 September. Now it is estimated to provide NAT service for a total of more than 2500 elderly and disabled persons with reduced mobility who are living in 28 facilities, furthermore the team will provide NAT service for the persons with reduced mobility in their residential places.

Taking the opportunity arising from the “Macao Week in Sichuan‧Chengdu” to give full play to Macao’s function as a platform between China and Portuguese-speaking countries (PSC), the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) held the “Join Macao, Seize PSCs Opportunities” Investor Presentation Session today (24 Sept). The event introduced some of the PSCs’ projects, professional financial and legal services. Nearly 100 enterprises took part in the event.
