The first ordinary plenary meeting of the Committee for the Development of Conventions and Exhibitions in 2026 was convened on 6 October, chaired by Ng Wai Han, Secretary for Economy and Finance and Chairman of the Committee for the Development of Conventions and Exhibitions. The Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (“IPIM”) introduced the latest developments in Macao’s MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) industry, and two forthcoming MICE support schemes set to bolster the competitiveness of local MICE industry. Meanwhile, the Industrial Development Bureau of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Co-operation Zone in Hengqin (hereinafter referred to as the “Co-operation Zone”) presented the information of Hengqin International Convention and Exhibition Center and associated operational plans. Committee members also exchanged views on the future development of Macao’s MICE industry.
